CECC/UG AUTOMOTIVE - Automotive Users Group
To promote the use of the CECC System for the Procurement of electronic components for automotive applications by: - creating a forum among European car manufacturers, equipment for car manufacturers and electronic component manufacturers to review and discuss areas of common interest in the field of quality requirements for automotive electronic components - defining criteria and procedures related to audits, qualification and certification of automotive electronic components reducing the cost for both manufacturers and users, reinforcing at the same time the relationships between European suppliers and users of automotive electronic components - making a cost analysis/comparison of the European audit procedures for automotive electronic components - selecting representative components - identifying the requirements for such components - comparing relevant costs of qualification testing procedures for different specifications - obtaining feedback from automotive user interests on their experience of implementing the CECC System - preparing lists of components and technologies recommended for automotive applications - reporting to the CECC/CERT. The CECC Automotive Users Group consists of car manufacturers, car equipment manufacturers and electronic component manufacturers. It aims at harmonising the quality approach for the European Automotive market. The European Automotive ad hoc working group was set up in 1991 by CEMEC, the former EECA Technical Committee, and became an official CECC Users Group in September 1994).
