Lays down requirements common to installations using the effect of electromagnetic forces on liquid metals; specific requirements for electromagnetic pouring equipment; specific requirements for electromagnetic equipment with lining. The significant changes with respect to the previous edition are the latest editions of IEC 60519-1:2003 and IEC 60519-3:2005 which have been taken into account. To be used in conjunction with IEC 60519-1.

Standardizes test methods to determine the essential parameters and technical characteristics of electroheat installations comprising furnaces. Applies to electrical installations comprising industrial induction channel furnaces and induction crucible furnaces for melting, holding and superheating.

Consists of requirements common to both induction and conduction heating installations and induction melting installations, and specific requirements for induction and conduction heating installations, and specific requirements for induction melting installations.

Applicable to industrial radio- or high-frequency induction heating installations used for the purpose of thermal applications (e.g. for surface hardening, welding, soldering, melting, forging, zone refining of semiconductors, etc.). Relates to high-frequency induction heating installations in the frequency range up to 300 MHz for power levels of 500 W and above, comprising high-frequency generators and inductors together with necessary mechanical devices for charge handling (e.g. hardening machines). The main purpose is to provide the test methods for the determination of output power of industrial high-frequency induction heating power sources.
