IEC TR 62271-307:2024 refers to prefabricated metal-enclosed and solid-insulation enclosed (both hereinafter called enclosed) switchgear and controlgear assemblies for alternating current of rated voltages above 1 kV and up to and including 52 kV as specified in IEC 62271‑200 and IEC 62271‑201, and to other equipment included in the same enclosure with any possible mutual influence. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2015. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) Structure of document updated.
b) Updated references to IEC 62271-200:2021 and IEC 62271-1:2017.
c) Addition of criteria for the extension of validity of type tests from functional unit(s) with a different insulating gas to the functional unit to be validated.
d) Figure 5 for the validation of a design modification was added.
e) Clause B.7 for the extension of validity of type test for a GIS with insulation gas A to insulation gas B was added.

The contents of the corrigendum of January 2012 have been included in this copy.

Applies to all equipment and devices implemented according to IEC 61375-1, that is covers the procedures to be applied to such equipment and devices when the conformance should be proven. The applicability of this standard to a TCN implementation allows for individual conformance checking of the implementation itself and is a pre-requisite for further interoperability checking between different TCN implementations.

Applies to data communication in open trains, that is covers data communication between vehicles of the said open trains and data communication within the vehicles of the said open trains. Allows for interoperability of individual vehicles within open trains in international traffic. May also be applicable to closed trains and multiple unit trains when so agreed between purchaser and supplier. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: technical amendments in clauses 2, 3 and 4 where some inconsistencies were removed.
