ISO/TC 87/WG 17 - Raw material

This document specifies a method of sampling for the determination of moisture content of packed cork, either virgin cork, raw reproduction cork, burnt cork, boiled reproduction cork and raw cork waste.

ISO 1216:2017 defines when boiled reproduction cork is considered to be commercially dry. In addition, it classifies the different possibilities of grading boiled reproduction cork in terms of thickness, specifies its visual classification, packing and marking and defines the acceptable loss in transit.

ISO 2190:2016 specifies the reference method for determination of the moisture content of granulated cork.

ISO 2031:2015 specifies a method of determining the apparent bulk density of granulated cork, as defined in ISO 633.

ISO 1215:2015 applies to commercially dry virgin cork, raw reproduction cork, ramassage, gleanings, burnt cork, corkwaste, boiled cork pieces, and boiled corkwaste and specifies the conditions of packaging for each type.
