4.1 These warnings are intended as preventive measures against most reported hazards. This practice may not apply to all tents or bivouac sacks, and should be modified appropriately.
SCOPE
1.1 This practice establishes requirements for the information that shall be permanently affixed to backpacking and mountaineering tents and bivouac sacks.  
1.2 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

5.1 The recommended labels are shown in the figures below. The size of the tent label is not defined, but should be readable
in accordance with ANSI Z535.4 and based on the size of the tent.
5.2 The tent label is not intended to replace the label required by CPIA-84.
6. Tent Label
6.1 The caution sign and warning label are printed on an orange background 6 in. wide by 1 in. high, with the rest of the wording
on a white background. It is recommended that the label be sewn into the tent close to an entrance where the user will easily see
it. See Fig. 1.
