SCOPE
1.1 This specification covers bare compact round stranded conductors made from uncoated copper wires of a single input wire (SIW) diameter for general use as an electrical conductor. These conductors shall be constructed with one or more layers of helically laid compacted wires (Explanatory Notes 1, 2, and 3).
1.2 The SI values for density are to be regarded as the standard. For all other properties, the inch-pound values are to be regarded as the standard, and the SI units may be approximate.
