SIGNIFICANCE AND USE
5.1 As the cannabis/hemp industries expand and their products become more available as consumable products, the following requirements and expectations within the industry become increasingly significant, requiring:  
5.1.1 The safety, reliability, and quality of its products;  
5.1.2 Worker safety;  
5.1.3 Environmental sustainability;  
5.1.4 Regulatory compliance;  
5.1.5 The need for different levels of qualified professionals; and  
5.1.6 Development of qualified training and certification programs.  
5.2 The primary objectives of this standard are as follows:  
5.2.1 To provide a general overview of the BoK required for the professional vocations listed in Section 6 (Table 1); and  
5.2.2 This guide provides recommendations for vocations to form the foundation for training and subsequent recognition/certification or accreditation systems, or both, that enable consumers, employers, organizational management, government agencies, and others who rely upon a skilled workforce to distinguish between qualified and non-qualified workers.
SCOPE
1.1 This guide provides recommendation to certificate issuers for administering certificates and developing associated training programs for quality vocations within the cannabis/hemp industries. All references to cannabis within this guide are also inclusive to the hemp cannabis varieties.  
1.2 This guide provides the general requirements and recommendations for experience, training, education, and the body of knowledge (BoK) necessary quality-related vocations within the cannabis/hemp industry listed in Table 1.    
1.3 The vocational requirements recommended in this standard provide a guide for entities that issue certificates, offer training programs, and for individuals that seek careers in the respective vocation.  
1.4 This guide provides recommendations for articulating vocational requirements for certifications. Its content does not supersede requirements, vocational training, and certification conditions defined by jurisdictional entities such as government or other regional regulatory bodies.  
1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. Standard Practice for Training in the Forensic Examination of Hair by Microscopy

SIGNIFICANCE AND USE
4.1 A training program provides the theoretical foundation and practical skills necessary for a trainee to become a qualified forensic hair examiner.  
4.2 A trainee is directly supervised by a qualified examiner throughout their training. At the end of the training program, a successful trainee is capable of forming opinions, presenting and explaining evidence, and understanding the limitations of analytical results and interpretations based upon sound scientific knowledge, validated procedures, and practical experience.  
4.3 A trainee is required to meet the minimum training criteria in Practice E2917 and this practice. It is the laboratory management’s responsibility to ensure the selected trainee has the appropriate educational background. It is recommended that, at a minimum, the trainee possess a bachelor’s degree in a natural science.  
4.4 This document outlines lessons, practical exercises, and criteria to monitor and evaluate trainee progress and is designed to be incorporated into an overall laboratory training program.  
4.5 Additional training beyond that which is listed here should be made available to the trainee. Such training might include off-site courses, internships, and specialized training by experienced examiners. Continuing education and training will provide a forensic examiner the opportunity to remain current in the field.  
4.6 Additional analyses can be performed on hairs that have been chemically altered (for example, dyed hair) or have trace materials on the surface (for example, glitter). Such techniques are beyond the scope of this document.  
4.7 This practice addresses the benefit of following microscopical examinations with DNA analysis.
SCOPE
1.1 This practice covers training guidelines for use by forensic laboratory personnel responsible for training forensic examiners that will perform hair examinations, including microscopical comparisons of human hair.  
1.2 Forensic hair examiners are trained in accordance with Practice E2917 and the discipline-specific guidelines (Guide E3316) and criteria within this practice.  
1.3 This practice contains guidelines that include the tasks, goals, and objectives that allow the trainee to acquire the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to independently perform casework in the microscopical examination of hair.  
1.4 This practice addresses the correlation between the analytical results of microscopical examinations and the potential for DNA analysis.  
1.5 This practice addresses training for the microscopical examination of hairs and not the examination of chemical alterations (for example, hair dye) or trace materials on the surface of hairs (for example, hair care products).

SCOPE
1.1 This specification defines the requirements for training and the development of training manuals for the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) operator.

4.2 This guide describes an approach to selection, qualification, and training of personnel that is to be used in conjunction with other NDA Quality Assurance (QA) program elements. The selection, qualification and training processes can vary and this guide provides one such approach.  
4.3 The qualification activities described in this guide assume that NDA personnel are already proficient in general facility operations and safety procedures. The training and activities that developed this proficiency are not covered in this guide.  
4.4 This guide describes a basic approach and principles for the qualification of NDA professionals and technical specialists and operators. A different approach may be adopted by the management organization based on its particular organization and facility specifics. However, if a variation of the approach of this guide is applied, the resulting selection, training, and qualification programs must meet the requirements of the facility quality assurance program and should provide all the applicable functions of Section 5.  
4.5 This guide may be used as an aid in the preparation of a Training Implementation Plan (TIP) for the Transuranic Waste Characterization Program (TWCP).  
4.6 This guide describes education and expertise guidance for NDA auditors due to the importance and complexity of proper oversight of NDA activities.
SCOPE
1.1 This guide contains good practices for the selection, training, qualification, and professional development of personnel performing analysis, calibration, physical measurements, or data review using nondestructive assay equipment, methods, results, or techniques. The guide also covers NDA personnel involved with NDA equipment setup, selection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, or repair. General guidelines for the selection, training, and qualification of NDA auditors are included as well, but at a lower level of detail due to the variability of the personnel’s responsibilities performing this functions. Selection, training, and qualification programs based on this guide are intended to provide assurance that NDA personnel are suitably qualified and experienced personnel (SQEP) to perform their jobs competently. This guide presents a series of options but does not recommend a specific course of action.
This standard guide does not address the qualifications per se of an NDA Manager. However, it is expected that the NDA Manager is familiar with NDA techniques, and can make informed decisions on the acceptability of the assay results. If an NDA Manager does not have adequate technical qualifications in the NDA field, they are recommended to undergo training to gain familiarity in this area.
An NDA Manager with no relevant NDA experience should have access to a Senior NDA Professional who will give guidance for all technical decisions such as applicability and limitation of methods, reasonableness of results, needed upgrades and advantageous development investments.

Standard Guide for Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Maintenance Technician Qualification

SIGNIFICANCE AND USE
4.1 This guide is intended to be used to assess competencies of qualified individuals who wish to become certified as a UAS Technician through a certification program.  
4.2 This guide is intended to be used in concert with a certification provider’s structure and materials for management, exam delivery, and candidate preparation.  
4.3 This guide is intended to be used in conjunction with any civil aviation authority’s (CAA’s) guidance or regulations.  
4.4 In this guide, a classification system is used based on the equipage of the entire UAS. The purpose of this classification system is to train technicians on the knowledge necessary to maintain the UAS based on the equipage of the entire system. UAS Technicians are commonly responsible for maintaining not just the unmanned aircraft itself, but the control station, data links, and peripheral equipment (off-aircraft equipment) as well. As the level of complexity increases, so must the UAS Technician’s scope of knowledge. This classification system is presented in Table 1.  
4.5 Full system classification relies on the highest classification of the individual components of the system.  
4.6 This classification model is used as a guide for typical systems of a UAS, not a definitive list.  
4.7 For technicians who maintain more than a single model of UAS, a class qualification is recommended (Tables 2-4).
SCOPE
1.1 The purpose of this guide is to address the fundamental subject knowledge, task performance, and task knowledge activities and functions for unmanned aircraft system professionals to be titled unmanned aircraft system technician.  
1.2 Technician qualifications include:  
1.2.1 Type ratings on specific systems or families of systems can draw appropriate technical content from this guide, as needed, to be applicable to specific models;  
1.2.2 The minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform maintenance on Class 1 UAS;  
1.2.3 The minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform maintenance on Class 2 UAS; and  
1.2.4 The minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform maintenance on Class 3 UAS.
