Standard Specification for Copper-Base Alloy Centrifugal Castings

ABSTRACT
This specification establishes the requirements for copper-based brass or bronze centrifugal castings. Mechanical properties are determined from test bar castings and should meet the requirements listed herein. Brinell hardness readings should be taken on the grip end of tension test bars. All castings should not be repaired by welding without customer approval. UNS C95520 copper alloy castings are used in the heat treated condition only.
SCOPE
1.1 This specification establishes requirements for centrifugal castings of copper-base alloys having the nominal compositions shown in Table 1. (A) Phosphorus 0.13
1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.
