Resilient floor coverings - Specification for plain and decorative linoleum on a foam backing
This European Standard specifies the characteristics of plain and decorated linoleum on a foam backing as a compound floor covering, supplied in roll form.
To encourage the consumer to make an informed choice, this European Standard includes a classification system based on intensity of use, which shows where resilient floor coverings should give satisfactory service (see EN 685). It also includes requirements for marking.
The term ‘linoleum’ is frequently incorrectly applied to a range of floor coverings, often to those based on polyvinyl chloride or rubber. Such materials are not included in this standard.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Eigenschaften von ungemusterten und gemusterten Linoleum-
Bodenbelägen mit Schaumrücken fest, die in Form von Rollen geliefert werden.
Um den Verbraucher bei seiner Auswahl zu unterstützen, enthält diese Euröpäische Norm ein
Klassifizierungssystem (siehe EN 685) auf Basis der Nutzungsintensität, das zeigt, wo für diese Bodenbeläge
ein zufriedenstellender Nutzen möglich wäre. Die Norm legt auch die Anforderungen zur Kennzeichnung fest.
Der Begriff „Linoleum“ wird häufig fälschlicherweise auch für andere Bodenbeläge, oft für solche auf Basis von
Polyvinylchlorid oder Elastomeren, verwendet. Derartige Materialien sind nicht in dieser Norm eingeschlossen.

Ta evropski standard določa značilnosti linoleja na penastem hrbtišču z dekorativnim vzorcem ali brez njega kot sestavljene talne obloge, dostavljene v obliki zvitka.
Da bi ta evropski standard potrošnike spodbujal k sprejemanju utemeljenih odločitev, vsebuje klasifikacijski sistem, ki temelji na intenzivnosti uporabe, ki kaže, kje bi se te netekstilne talne obloge lahko zadovoljivo uporabljale (glej EN 685). Vključuje tudi zahteve za označevanje.
Izraz »linolej« se večkrat nepravilno uporablja za različne talne obloge, pogosto za talne obloge na osnovi polivinilklorida ali gume. Taki materiali niso vključeni v ta standard.
