EN ISO 1234:1997 / ISO 1234:1997 - Split pins defines the characteristics, dimensions and requirements for split pins (also called cotter pins or goupilles fendues). Prepared by ISO/TC 2 (Fasteners) and published as the second edition in 1997, this standard is the international reference for manufacturing, inspection and designation of split pins and has been adopted as an EN standard in many countries (e.g., SIST EN ISO 1234:2001).

• Designation example: Split pin ISO 1234 – 5 × 50 – St (nominal size 5 mm, length 50 mm, steel).

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide
