ISO 1518-1:2011 specifies a test method for determining under defined conditions the resistance of a single coating or a multi-coat system of paint, varnish or related product to penetration by scratching with a scratch stylus loaded with a specified load. Penetration of the stylus is to the substrate, except in the case of a multi-coat system, in which case the stylus can penetrate either to the substrate or to an intermediate coat.
The method specified can be carried out
either as a "pass/fail" test, by testing with a single specified load applied to the stylus to assess compliance with a particular specification;
or by applying increasing loads to the stylus to determine the minimum load at which the coating is penetrated.

Dieser Teil von ISO 1518 legt ein Verfahren fest, mit dem unter definierten Bedingungen der Widerstand einer einzelnen Schicht oder eines Mehrschichtsystems aus Beschichtungsstoffen gegen das Eindringen eines mit einem festgelegten Gewichtstück belasteten Ritzstichels bestimmt wird. Der Ritzstichel dringt bis zum Substrat ein, außer bei Mehrschichtsystemen, bei denen der Ritzstichel entweder bis zum Substrat oder nur bis zu einer Zwischenschicht eindringt. Das festgelegte Verfahren kann durchgeführt werden a) entweder als „ja/nein“-Prüfung mit nur einer festgelegten Last auf dem Ritzstichel, um die Übereinstimmung mit einer bestimmten Spezifikation festzustellen; b) oder zur Bestimmung der Mindestlast (Einstufungsprüfung), unter der der Ritzstichel die Beschichtung bis zum Substrat durchdringt, wobei der Ritzstichel zunehmend belastet wird.

L'ISO 1518-1:2011 spécifie une méthode d'essai pour la détermination, dans des conditions définies, de la résistance à la pénétration d'un revêtement monocouche ou d'un système multicouche de peinture, de vernis ou de produit assimilé, par rayure au moyen d'un stylet à rayer sur lequel est appliquée une charge spécifiée. La pénétration du stylet se fait jusqu'au subjectile, sauf dans le cas d'un système multicouche où le stylet peut pénétrer soit jusqu'au subjectile, soit jusqu'à une couche intermédiaire.
La méthode spécifiée peut être mise oeuvre
1. soit comme essai de conformité (conforme/non conforme), en appliquant une charge fixe spécifiée sur le stylet pour évaluer la conformité à une spécification particulière;
2. soit en appliquant des charges croissantes sur le stylet pour déterminer la charge minimale à laquelle il y a pénétration dans le revêtement.

Ta del ISO 1518 določa preskusno metodo za ugotavljanje odpornosti, v opredeljenih pogojih, enojnega sloja ali večslojnega sistema barve, laka ali sorodnega proizvoda proti predrtju z razenjem s koničastim tipalom z zvezno naraščajočo obremenitvijo. Sonda prodre do substrata, razen pri večslojnem sistemu, kjer sonda lahko prodre do substrata ali do vmesnega sloja. Opredeljena metoda se lahko izvede kot a) preskus »uspešno/neuspešno« s preskušanjem z vnosom enojne opredeljene obremenitve na sondo, da se oceni skladnost z določeno specifikacijo; b) ali z vnosom naraščajočih obremenitev na sondo, da se določi minimalna obremenitev, pri kateri se premaz predre.
