Mechanical properties of fasteners made of carbon steel and alloy steel - Part 3: Flat washers with specified property classes (ISO 898-3:2018)

This document specifies mechanical and physical properties of flat washers, designed to be used in bolted joints in combination with bolts, screws, studs and nuts with a specified property class in accordance with ISO 898‑1 and ISO 898‑2.
NOTE 1    These types of washers can also be used with other fasteners such as screws forming their own mating thread.
Washers that conform to the requirements of this document are evaluated at an ambient temperature range of 10 °C to 35 °C. They might not retain the specified mechanical and physical properties at elevated temperatures and/or lower temperatures.
NOTE 2    Washers conforming to the requirements of this document are used in applications ranging from −50 °C to +150 °C. Users are advised to consult an experienced fastener expert for temperatures outside this range and up to a maximum temperature of +300 °C when determining appropriate choices, or for critical applications.
This document is applicable to the following flat captive and non-captive washers made of carbon steel or alloy steel, with thickness from 0,2 mm to 12 mm:
—          plain washers (with or without knurls, ribs or chamfers);
—          square washers;
—          square hole washers;
—          shaped plates.
It does not specify requirements for the following properties:
—          corrosion resistance;
—          weldability.

Dieses Dokument legt mechanische und physikalische Eigenschaften von flachen Scheiben fest, die für Schraubverbindungen in Kombination mit Schrauben und Muttern entsprechend der in ISO 898-1 und ISO 898-2 festgelegten Festigkeitsklasse vorgesehen sind.
ANMERKUNG 1 Diese Arten von Scheiben können auch mit anderen Verbindungselementen verwendet werden, z. B. mit gewindefurchenden Schrauben.
Scheiben, die die Anforderungen dieses Dokumentes erfüllen, werden bei einem Raumtemperaturbereich von 10 °C bis 35 °C bewertet. Es könnte sein, dass sie bei erhöhten Temperaturen und/oder niedrigeren Temperaturen nicht die festgelegten mechanischen und physikalischen Eigenschaften beibehalten.
ANMERKUNG 2 Scheiben, die die Anforderungen dieses Dokumentes erfüllen, werden in Anwendungen im Bereich von −50 °C bis +150 °C verwendet. Für Temperaturen außerhalb dieses Bereiches und bis zu einer Höchsttemperatur von +300 °C wird den Benutzern empfohlen, bei der Ermittlung der geeigneten Auswahl oder bei kritischen Anwendun-gen einen erfahrenen Fachmann für Verbindungselemente hinzuzuziehen.
Dieses Dokument ist bei den folgenden flachen unverlierbaren und verlierbaren Scheiben aus Kohlenstoff-stahl oder legiertem Stahl mit einer Dicke von 0,2 mm bis 12 mm anwendbar:
— einfache Scheiben (mit oder ohne Rändelung, Rippen oder Fasen);
— Vierkantscheiben;
— Scheiben mit Vierkantloch;
— Formbleche.
Es legt keine Anforderungen an folgende Eigenschaften fest:
— Korrosionsbeständigkeit;
— Schweißbarkeit.

Le présent document spécifie les caractéristiques mécaniques et physiques des rondelles de forme plane, conçues pour être utilisées dans des assemblages vissés en combinaison avec des vis, des goujons, des tiges filetées et des écrous de classes de qualité spécifiées conformément à l'ISO 898-1 et à l'ISO 898-2.
NOTE 1    Ces types de rondelles peuvent être utilisés également avec d'autres fixations, telles que les vis formant leur propre filetage.

Ta del standarda ISO 898 določa mehanske in fizikalne lastnosti ploščatih podložk, namenjenih za uporabo v vijačnih spojih v kombinaciji s sorniki, vijaki, zatiči ter maticami z določenim razredom trdnosti v skladu s standardoma ISO 898-1 in ISO 898-2. Podložke, skladne z zahtevami iz tega dela standarda ISO 898, so ocenjene pri sobni temperaturi od 10 °C do 35 °C. Te podložke se uporabljajo pri nizkih ali visokih temperaturah, pri čemer je najvišja temperatura 300 °C.
