Respiratory protective devices - Methods of test - Part 3: Determination of breathing resistance

This European Standard specifies the general procedure for measurement of breathing resistance of filters for respiratory protective devices and respiratory protective devices incorporating facepieces, except for diving for respiratory protective devices. The requirements and any special conditions for the apparatus, and of filter measurements are described in the relevant device standard.

Diese Europäische Norm legt das allgemeine Verfahren zum Messen des Atemwiderstandes von Filtern für Atemschutzgeräte und Atemschutzgeräten mit Atemanschlüssen, ausgenommen Tauchgeräte, für Atemschutz-geräte fest. Die Anforderungen und alle besonderen Messbedingungen und Filtermessungen werden in der entsprechenden Gerätenorm beschrieben.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie le mode opératoire général pour déterminer la résistance respiratoire des filtres pour appareils de protection respiratoire et des appareils de protection respiratoire munis de pièces faciales, à l'exception des appareils de plongée. Les exigences ainsi que toutes les conditions spéciales de mesure de filtre sont décrites dans la norme correspondant à l'appareil.

The convention of reporting breathing resistance is that if during the inhalation resistance test, the pressure inside thefacepiece relative to atmosphere is negative, no sign is used in front of the result.
