Metallic materials - Brinell hardness test - Part 2: Verification and calibration of testing machines (ISO 6506-2:2005)

ISO 6506-2:2005 specifies a method of verification and calibration of testing machines used for determining Brinell hardness in accordance with ISO 6506-1.
ISO 6506-2:2005 specifies a direct method for checking the main functions of machine operation and an indirect method suitable for the overall checking of the machine. The indirect method may be used independently for periodic routine checking of machine operation while in service. If a testing machine is also to be used for other methods of hardness testing, it should be verified independently for each method.
ISO 6506-2:2005 is also applicable to portable hardness testing machines.

Metallische Werkstoffe - Härteprüfung nach Brinell - Teil 2: Prüfung und Kalibrierung der Prüfmaschinen (ISO 6506-2:2005)

In diesem Teil von ISO 6506 ist das Verfahren für die Prüfung und Kalibrierung von Härteprüfmaschinen zur Bestimmung der Brinellhärte nach ISO 6506-1 festgelegt.
Es sind ein direktes Verfahren zur Prüfung der Hauptfunktionen der Härteprüfmaschine und ein indirektes Prüfverfahren zur Ermittlung der Funktionsfähigkeit der Härteprüfmaschine festgelegt. Das indirekte Verfahren kann für die regelmäßige Routineüberprüfung der Maschine beim Anwender angewendet werden.
Wird eine Härteprüfmaschine auch für andere Härteprüfverfahren verwendet, muss sie unabhängig für jedes Verfahren geprüft werden.
Dieser Teil von ISO 6506 ist auch anwendbar auf tragbare Härteprüfgeräte.

L'ISO 6506-2:2005 spécifie une méthode de vérification et d'étalonnage des machines d'essai utilisées pour la détermination de la dureté Brinell conformément à l'ISO 6506-1.
L'ISO 6506-2:2005 spécifie une méthode de vérification directe des principales fonctions de la machine et une méthode de vérification indirecte appropriée pour une vérification globale de la machine. La méthode indirecte peut être utilisée indépendamment pour une vérification périodique de routine du fonctionnement de la machine en service. Si une machine d'essai est également utilisée pour d'autres méthodes d'essai de dureté, elle doit être vérifiée indépendamment pour chaque méthode.
L'ISO 6506-2:2005 est également applicable aux machines d'essai de dureté portables.

This document (EN ISO 6506-2:2005) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 164
"Mechanical testing of metals" in collaboration with Technical Committee ECISS/TC 1 "Steel -
Mechanical testing", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2006, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by June 2006.

This document supersedes EN ISO 6506-2:1999.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
