Ophthalmic optics - Visual acuity testing -- Standard and clinical optotypes and their presentation (ISO 8596:2017)

ISO 8596:2017 specifies a range of Landolt ring optotypes and describes a method for measuring distance visual acuity under photopic conditions for the purposes of certification or licensing.
ISO 8596:2017 is neither intended as a standard for clinical measurements nor for the certification of blindness or partial sight.
Other optotypes used for clinical investigations are described in Annex A for information.

Dieses Dokument legt eine Reihe von Landoltring Sehzeichen fest und beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Messung der Sehschärfe für die Ferne unter photopischen Bedingungen (Tageslichtbedingungen) für gutachterliche Zwecke oder Zulassungs¬verfahren.
Dieses Dokument ist weder als Norm für klinische Messungen noch zur Begutachtung von Blindheit oder Sehbehinderung vorgesehen.
Andere Sehzeichen für die klinische Untersuchung werden im informativen Anhang A beschrieben

ISO 8592:2017 spécifie une gamme d'optotypes constitués d'anneaux de Landolt et décrit une méthode de mesure de l'acuité visuelle en vision de loin, dans le domaine photopique, à des fins de délivrance d'attestations ou de permis.
ISO 8592:2017 n'a pas vocation à traiter des mesurages effectués lors des examens cliniques ou en vue d'un certificat pour cécité ou baisse de la vue.
D'autres optotypes utilisés lors des examens cliniques sont décrits dans l'Annexe A à titre d'information.

Ta dokument določa optotipe Landoltovega kolobarja in opisuje metodo za merjenje ostrine vida na daljavo v fotopičnih pogojih za namene certificiranja ali licenciranja. Ta dokument ni namenjen za uporabo kot standard za klinične meritve ali za potrditev slepote ali slabovidnosti.

This document (EN ISO 8596:2018) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 172 “Optics and
photonics” in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 170 “Ophthalmic optics” the secretariat
of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by July 2018, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by July 2018.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 8596:2009.
