Sustainability of construction works - Assessment of buildings - Part 2: Framework for the assessment of environmental performance
This European Standard forms one part of a series of European Standards and provides the specific principles and requirements for the assessment of environmental performance of buildings taking into account technical characteristics and functionality of a building. Assessment of environmental performance is one aspect of sustainability assessment of buildings under the general framework of EN 15643-1.
The framework applies to all types of buildings and it is relevant for the assessment of the environmental performance of new buildings over their entire life cycle, and of existing buildings over their remaining service life and end of life stage.
In this series of standards, the environmental dimension of sustainability is limited to the assessment of environmental aspects and impacts of a building on the local, regional and global environment. The assessment is on Life Cycle Assessment and additional quantifiable environmental information expressed with quantified indicators. It excludes the assessment of a building’s influence on the environmental aspects and impacts of the local infrastructure beyond the area of the building site, and environmental aspects and impacts resulting from transportation of the users of the building. It also excludes environmental risk assessment.
The standards developed under this framework do not set the rules for how different building assessment schemes may provide valuation methods. Nor do they prescribe levels, classes or benchmarks for measuring performance.
NOTE Valuation methods, levels, classes or benchmarks may be prescribed in the requirements for environmental, social and economic performance in the client’s brief, building regulations, national standards, national codes of practice, building assessment and certification schemes, etc.

Nachhaltigkeit von Bauwerken - Bewertung der Nachhaltigkeit von Gebäuden - Teil 2: Rahmenbedingungen für die Bewertung der umweltbezogenen Qualität
Diese Europäische Norm ist Teil einer Reihe Europäischer Normen und enthält die spezifischen Grundsätze und Anforderungen an die Bewertung von Gebäuden hinsichtlich ihrer umweltbezogenen Qualität unter Berücksichtigung der technischen Eigenschaften und Funktionalität eines Gebäudes. Die Beschreibung der umweltbezogenen Qualität ist ein Aspekt der Nachhaltigkeitsbeschreibung von Gebäuden im Kontext der allgemeinen Rahmenbedingungen von EN 15643-1. Die Rahmenbedingungen gelten für alle Arten von Gebäuden und sind für die Bewertung der umweltbezogenen Qualität bei neuen Gebäuden über deren gesamten Lebenszyklus und bei Bestandsgebäuden für deren restliche Lebensdauer und die Entsorgungsphase maßgeblich. In dieser Normenreihe beschränkt sich die umweltbezogene Dimension der Nachhaltigkeit auf die Beschreibung der Umweltauswirkungen und -aspekte eines Gebäudes hinsichtlich der lokalen, regionalen und globalen Umwelt. Die Ökobilanz wird beurteilt und zusätzliche quantifizierbare umweltbezogene Informationen werden an Hand von quantifizierten Indikatoren angegeben. Der Einfluss des Gebäudes auf die Umweltaus-wirkungen und –aspekte der örtlichen Infrastruktur über das Gebäudegrundstück hinaus sowie die Umwelt-auswirkungen und –aspekte infolge der Fahrten von Nutzern zu und von dem Gebäude werden nicht beurteilt. Die Analyse der Umweltrisiken wird ebenfalls nicht behandelt. Die unter diesen Rahmenbedingungen entwickelten Normen enthalten weder Regeln, wie die unterschiedlichen Verfahrensweisen der Beurteilung von Gebäuden zu Bewertungsverfahren weiterentwickelt werden können, noch schreiben sie Grenzwerte, Klassen oder Richtwerte für die Bemessung der Qualität vor. Contribution des ouvrages de construction au développement durable - Évaluation des bâtiments - Partie 2: Cadre pour l’évaluation des performances environnementales
La présente Norme européenne fait partie d'une série de Normes européennes et présente les principes et exigences spécifiques de l'évaluation des performances environnementales des bâtiments en prenant en compte leurs caractéristiques techniques et fonctionnelles. L’évaluation des performances environnementales n’est qu’un aspect de l’évaluation de la contribution au développement durable des ouvrages de construction tel que décrit dans le cadre général de l'EN 15643-1.
Le cadre méthodologique s’applique à tous les types de bâtiments et concerne l’évaluation des performances environnementales des bâtiments neufs tout au long de leur cycle de vie, et celles des bâtiments existants pour leur durée de vie restante et leur phase de fin de vie.
Dans la présente série de normes, la dimension environnementale de la contribution au développement durable se limite à l'évaluation des impacts et aspects environnementaux d'un bâtiment sur l'environnement à l’échelle locale, régionale et globale. L'évaluation est basée sur une analyse du cycle de vie et les informations environnementales quantifiables supplémentaires sont exprimées à l'aide d'indicateurs quantifiés. Elle exclut l'évaluation de l'influence d'un bâtiment sur les impacts et aspects environnementaux liés à l'infrastructure locale au-delà de la parcelle, et sur les impacts et aspects environnementaux liés au transport des utilisateurs du bâtiment. Elle ne comprend pas non plus l'analyse des risques environnementaux.
Les normes élaborées dans ce cadre méthodologique ne définissent pas de règles concernant la façon dont les différents programmes d'évaluation peuvent fournir des méthodes de notation. Elles ne prescrivent pas non plus de niveaux, classes ou références comparatives pour situer les performances.
