Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components - Basic test and measurement procedures - Part 1: General and guidance

IEC 61300-1:2011 contains a series of environmental test and measurement procedures and, in some cases, preferred severities designed to assess the ability of fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components to perform under expected service conditions. Although the severities are primarily intended for land-based communications, the procedures may be used for other applications. The object of this standard is to provide uniform and reproducible environmental test procedures and measurement procedures, for those preparing specifications for fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components. The changes with respect to the previous edition are to reconsider the terms and definitions and multimode launch conditions.

La CEI 61300-1:2011 contient une série de méthodes d'essai et de mesure environnementales et, dans certains cas, les sévérités préférentielles pour évaluer la capacité des dispositifs d'interconnexion et composants passifs à fibres optiques à fonctionner dans des conditions de service prévues. Même si les sévérités sont d'abord destinées aux communications terrestres, les méthodes peuvent être utilisées pour d'autres applications. L'objet de la présente norme est de fournir des méthodes d'essai environnementales et de mesure uniformes et reproductibles aux personnes en charge de la rédaction de spécifications concernant les dispositifs d'interconnexion et les composants passifs à fibres optiques. Les modifications par rapport à l'édition précédente consistent en une reconsidération des termes et définitions et des conditions d'injection en multimode.

Ta del IEC 61300 vsebuje serijo okoljskih preskusov in postopkov merjenja ter, v nekaterih primerih, prednostno natančnost, zasnovano za oceno sposobnosti optičnih spojnih elementov in pasivnih komponent za delovanje v pričakovanih pogojih delovanja. Čeprav je natančnost predvsem namenjena komunikacijam na kopnem, je postopke mogoče uporabiti za druge uporabe. Cilj tega standarda je zagotoviti enotne in ponovljive postopke okoljskih preskusov in postopke merjenja za vse, ki pripravljajo specifikacije za optične spojne elemente in pasivne komponente. Ti postopki preskušanja in merjenja so zasnovani, da zagotovijo podatke o naslednjih lastnostih komponent in opreme, kot so konektorji, spoji, stikala, atenuatorji itd.: a) sposobnost obratovanja v nekaterih omejitvah glede temperature, tlaka, vlažnosti, mehanskega stresa ali drugih okoljskih pogojev in nekaterih kombinacij teh pogojev; b) odpornosti proti skladiščenju in prevozu; c) sposobnosti za izpolnjevanje opredeljenih ravni optične zmogljivosti. Ta standard se uporablja v kombinaciji z ustrezno specifikacijo, ki opredeli preskuse, ki jih je treba uporabiti, zahtevano stopnjo natančnosti za vsakega od njih, njihovo zaporedje, če je pomembno, in dovoljene omejitve delovanja. Pri navzkrižju med tem osnovnim standardom in ustrezno specifikacijo ima prednost slednja.

Foreword
The text of document 86B/3112/FDIS, future edition 3 of IEC 61300-1, prepared by SC 86B, Fibre optic
interconnecting devices and passive components, of IEC TC 86, Fibre optics, was submitted to the
IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as EN 61300-1 on 2011-04-27.
This European Standard supersedes EN 61300-1:2003.
The changes with respect to EN 61300-1:2003 are to reconsider the terms and definitions and multimode
launch conditions.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN and CENELEC shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent
rights.
The following dates were fixed:
