Večdelni dokument EN 300 396 določa neposredni način delovanja (DMO) prizemnega snopovnega radia (TETRA).
Določa osnovni radijski vmesnik, medsebojno delovanje skupin neposrednega načina (DM) prek ponavljalnikov in medsebojno delovanje s sistemom prizemnega snopovnega radia, ki podpira govor in podatke (V+D), prek prehodov. Poleg osnovnih nosilnih in telekomunikacijskih storitev določa tudi varnostne vidike neposrednega načina delovanja prizemnega snopovnega radia in storitve, ki jih podpira.
Ta del se uporablja za radijski vmesnik za ponavljalnike neposrednega načina delovanja (DM-REP) prizemnega snopovnega radia in vsebuje specifikacije za fizično plast, plast podatkovne povezave (DLL) in omrežno plast v skladu z modelom ISO.
Specifikacije iz tega dokumenta se uporabljajo za ponavljalnik neposrednega načina delovanja kot samostojno enoto za podporo enega klica na radijskem vmesniku (ponavljalnik neposrednega načina delovanja tipa 1). Zadevajo tudi delovanje mobilnih postaj v neposrednem načinu (DM-MS) s ponavljalnikom neposrednega načina delovanja tipa 1.
OPOMBA 1: Specifikacije za skupno izvajanje ponavljalnika/prehoda neposrednega načina (DM-REP/GATE) so skupaj s specifikacijami za prehod neposrednega načina (DM-GATE) navedene v dokumentu EN 300 396-5 [5].
OPOMBA 2: Specifikacije za ponavljalnik neposrednega načina kot samostojno enoto, ki podpira dva klica na radijskem vmesniku (ponavljalnik neposrednega načina tipa 2), so navedene v dokumentu EN 300 396-7 [i.3].
Protokol za mobilno postajo neposrednega načina, ki deluje s ponavljalnikom neposrednega načina tipa 1, je naveden v točkah 5, 8, 10 in 11. Velik del tega protokola je opredeljen v obliki »delta dokumenta«, ki se nanaša na specifikacije za neposredno delovanje od mobilne postaje do mobilne postaje iz dokumentov EN 300 396-2 [2] in EN 300 396-3 [3].
