This amendment has been prepared by technical committee 61: Safety of household and
similar electrical appliances.
The text of this amendment is based on the following documents:
FDIS Report on voting
61/2274/FDIS 61/2324/RVD
Full information on the voting for the approval of this amendment can be found in the report
on voting indicated in the above table.
The committee has decided that the contents of the base publication and its amendments will
remain unchanged until 2005. At this date, the publication will be
• reconfirmed;
• withdrawn;
• replaced by a revised edition, or
• amended.

7 Marking and instructions
7.12.1 Add a fourth dashed item after Note 102:
– that the appliance must not be installed behind a lockable door, a sliding door or a door
with a hinge on the opposite side to that of the tumble dryer.
20 Stability and mechanical hazards
20.101 Replace the third sentence of the first paragraph by the following:
For appliances with a door opening having a dimension exceeding 200 m

7 Marquage et instructions
7.12.1 Ajouter un quatrième tiret après la Note 102:
– que l’appareil ne doit pas être installé derrière une porte à verrouillage, une porte coulissante ou une porte
avec une charnière du côté opposé à celle du sèche-linge.
20 Stabilité et dangers mécaniques
20.101 Remplacer la troisième phrase du premier alinéa par ce qui suit.
Pour les appareils dont l'ouverture a une dimension supérieure à 200 mm et dont le tambour a
un volume supérieur à 60 dm , il ne doit pas être possible de démarrer le moteur avant d’avoir
actionné manuellement un dispositif séparé qui commande le mouvement du tambour.
20.102 Remplacer le premier alinéa par ce qui suit.
Pour les appareils dont l'ouverture a une dimension supérieure à 200 mm et dont le tambour a
un volume supérieur à 60 dm , il doit être possible d'ouvrir la porte de l'intérieur avec une
force ne dépassant pas 70 N.
NOTE 1 Cette exigence ne s’applique pas aux machines à laver ayant une fonction séchage.
NOTE 2 Si l’appareil est fourni avec une porte décorative, l’essai est effectué avec cette porte fermée.
