Международная организация по стандартизации (ISO) является всемирной федерацией национальных

1 Область применения
Настоящий международный стандарт точно определяет технические требования к металлическим и
другим неорганическим покрытиям для того, чтобы разрабатывать согласованные технические
стандарты и устанавливать стандартный формат для обозначения покрытий. Он применяется к
международным стандартам для покрытий, наносимых электролитическим, автокаталитическим и
вакуумным осаждением металлов.
Подробные технические требования для отдельных покрытий не задаются в настоящем международном
стандарте, но их можно найти в международных стандартах, перечисленных в библиографии.
Настоящий международный стандарт не применяется к покрытиям, наносимым методом термического
распыления и эмалирования.
Настоящий международный стандарт не надо указывать в технических стандартах, технических
характеристиках изделия, договорах, заказах на поставку или в инженерно-технической документации,
так как запрос “метода подробного описания” в этих документах не является обязательным по контракту.

3 Термины и определения

другие удовлетворены (см. Раздел 6).
h) Методы отбора проб или образцов, уровни приемки и требования инспекции для целей контроля
качества (см. Раздел 7).
Подраздел 4.1 должен быть во всех документах на покрытия. Упомянутые выше пункты должны
перечисляться в порядке, в котором они цитируются в Разделе 6.
4.2 Дополнительная информация
Этот подпункт должен перечислять не включенную в 4.1 дополнительную информацию, которая может
потребоваться для конкретного покрытия, изделия или применения.
Он может включать специальные требования подготовки поверхности перед нанесением покрытия,
для восстановления производственного брака, к шероховатости чистовой отделки и любые другие
требования, подходящие для конкретного покрытия, изделия или применения.
5 Обозначение
5.1 Общие положения
5.1.1 Спецификация обозначения
Система обозначения, определенная в Директивах ISO, заключает в себе описательный элемент или
модуль, элемент или модуль номера международного стандарта и элемент или модуль отдельных
пунктов, как показано на Рисунке 1. Модуль номера международного стандарта должен быть отделен
дефисом от модуля отдельных пунктов.
Обозначение состоит из символов, которые должны быть буквами, цифрами или знаками.
Допустимыми являются только следующие знаки: дефис (-), косая черта (/) и запятая (,). В случае
металлических и органических покрытий должно быть допустимо, для ясности, использование круглых
скобок в блоке или модуле отдельных пунктов.

5.1.2 Модули описания и номера международного стандарта
Модуль описания кратко характеризует обозначенное покрытие. Следующий описательный модуль
должен быть использован для обозначения покрытий в рамках области действий ISO/TC 107:
a) электролитическое покрытие;
b) автокаталитическое покрытие;
c) покрытие вакуумным напылением.
За описательным модулем должен следовать номер международного стандарта конкретного покрытия,
[1] [4] [11]
которое обозначается, например, ISO 1456 , ISO 2081 , ISO 4527 , и т.д.
Набор идентичности включает модуль номера международного стандарта плюс модуль отдельных
элементов данных. Оба этих модуля являются важными для обозначения требований к покрытию.
5.1.3 Модуль отдельных пунктов
Модуль отдельных пунктов обозначает следующие пункты:
a) основной материал (см. 5.2);
b) специальный сплав (по выбору заказчика) (см. 5.2);
c) требования к снятию механических напряжений, когда необходимо (см. 5.3);
d) тип и толщина первых слоев (грунтовых покрытий, подложек) если присутствуют (см. 5.4);
e) покрытие и его минимальная местная толщина (см. 5.4);
f) тип покрытия (см. 5.4);
g) тип и толщина покрытий, наложенных поверх обозначенного покрытия, если присутствует (см. 5.4);
h) последующие обработки, включая термическую обработку в случае необходимости (см. 5.3).

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.
The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International Standards

This International Standard specifies the technical requirements of metallic and other inorganic coatings in
order to develop consistent technical standards, facilitate the understanding of technical requirements and
ensure a standard format.
This International Standard provides guidance to those involved in the drafting of technical standards and
assistance to users, purchasers and processors on interpreting the International Standards that specify
metallic and other inorganic coatings.

specifying metallic and inorganic coatings
1 Scope
This International Standard specifies the technical requirements of metallic and other inorganic coatings in
order to develop consistent technical standards and establishes a standard format for designating the coatings.
It applies to International Standards for electrodeposited, autocatalytic and vapour deposited coatings.
Detailed technical requirements for individual coatings are not given in this International Standard, but can be
found in the International Standards listed in the Bibliography.
This International Standard does not apply to thermally sprayed and porcelain enamel coatings.
This International Standard is not to be specified in technical standards, product specifications, contracts,
purchase orders or on engineering drawings, as invoking a “method of specifying” in these documents is not
contractually binding.
The main clauses of a coating standard shall be the following:

The Scope shall define the purpose of the standard and state the materials and products to which it applies,
along with any known limitations. The Scope also contains warnings or caveats concerning health and safety
hazards, international and environmental rules and regulations in bold font e.g.:
WARNING — This International Standard might not be compliant with some countries’ health, safety
and environmental legislations and calls for the use of substances and/or procedures that might be
injurious to health if adequate safety measures are not taken. This International Standard does not
address any health hazards, safety or environmental matters and legislations associated with its use.
It is the responsibility of the user of this International Standard to establish appropriate health, safety
and environmentally acceptable practices and take appropriate action to comply with any national,
regional and/or International regulations.

2 Normative references
This clause shall begin with a standard introductory paragraph provided by ISO. The current wording of the
introductory paragraph is as follows:
“The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated
references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced
document (including any amendments) applies.”
This introductory paragraph is followed by a complete list of the International Standards cited within the
document, which are necessary for determining that the requirements of the standard have been met. The list
is arranged in ascending order according to the International Standard number.
The normative references are most often International Standards, but national and regional standards may be
cited at the end of the list, if necessary.
3 Terms and definitions
References to International Standards that define the terminology and conventions established for metallic
and inorganic coatings are included in this clause. The standards cited shall be included in Clause 2.
This clause may also include terms that are not defined in existing standards and that are unique to a specific
coating standard, e.g.:
“For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply/the terms and definitions given in
… and the following apply.”
4 Information to be supplied to the electroplater (or processor) by the purchaser
4.1 Essential information
The purchaser shall provide the essential information requested in this sub-clause, in writing, as part of the
contract, purchase order, detailed product specification and/or on engineering drawings.
The essential information shall include the following items with cross-references, in parentheses, to the
clauses and sub-clauses that provide further details about the requirements and test methods.
a) The number of the International Standard and the designation as specified in the International Standard
(see Clause 5);
b) The appearance required, for example, bright, dull, satin, preferably with samples of the required finish
(see Clause 6);
c) The significant surface indicated by drawings or by suitably marked specimens (see Clause 6);
d) The nature, condition and finish of the basis material, if they affect serviceability and/or the appearance of
the coating (see Clause 6);
e) The position on the surface for unavoidable defects, such as rack or contact marks (see Clause 6);
f) The requirements for heat treatment before and/or after coating (see Clause 6);
g) The standards for determining that thickness, corrosion, adhesion, porosity and other requirements have
been met (see Clause 6);

h) Sampling methods, acceptance levels and inspection requirements for quality control purposes
(see Clause 7).
Subclause 4.1 shall appear in all coating documents. The above items shall be listed in the order in which they
are cited in Clause 6.
4.2 Additional information
This sub-clause shall itemize additional information, not included in 4.1, that may be required for a particular
coating, product or application.
It may include special requirements for the preparation of surfaces prior to coating, for the recovery of rejects,
for roughness of the final finish and for any other requirements appropriate for a particular coating, product or
application.
5 Designation
5.1 General
5.1.1 Designation specification
The designation system defined in ISO Directives is comprised of the description unit or module, the
International Standard number unit or module and the individual item unit or module as shown in Figure 1. The
International Standard number module shall be separated from the individual item module by a hyphen.
The designation consists of characters that shall be letters, digits or signs. The only signs permitted are the
hyphen (-), the solidus (/), and the comma (,). In the case of metallic and organic coatings, the use of
parentheses shall be allowed in the individual item block or module for clarity.

5.1.2 Description and International Standard number modules
The description module briefly describes the designated coating. The following description module shall be
used to designate the coatings within the scope of ISO/TC 107:
a) electrodeposited coating;
b) autocatalytic coating;
c) vapour deposited coating.

The description module shall be followed by the number of the International Standard of the particular coating
[1] [4] [11]
that is being designated; for example, ISO 1456 , ISO 2081 , ISO 4527 , etc.
The identity set is comprised of the International Standard number module plus the individual item module,
both being essential for designating coating requirements.
5.1.3 Individual item module
The individual item module designates the following items:
a) the basis material (see 5.2);
b) the specific alloy (optional) (see 5.2);
c) stress relief requirements, when necessary (see 5.3);
d) the type and thickness of undercoats, when present (see 5.4);
e) the coating and its minimum local thickness (see 5.4);
f) the type of coating (see 5.4);
g) the type and thickness of coatings applied over the designated coating, if present (see 5.4);
h) post-treatments including heat treatment, when necessary (see 5.3).
Each of these steps in the coating sequence is separated by a solidus (/). Double separators or solidi indicate
that a step in the process is either not required or has been omitted.

Avant-propos
L'ISO (Organisation internationale de normalisation) est une fédération mondiale d'organismes nationaux de
normalisation (comités membres de l'ISO). L'élaboration des Normes internationales est en général confiée
aux comités techniques de l'ISO. Chaque comité membre intéressé par une étude a le droit de faire partie du
comité technique créé à cet effet. Les organisations internationales, gouvernementales et non
gouvernementales, en liaison avec l'ISO participent également aux travaux. L'ISO collabore étroitement avec
la Commission électrotechnique internationale (CEI) en ce qui concerne la normalisation électrotechnique.
Les Normes internationales sont rédigées conformément aux règles données dans les Directives ISO/CEI,
Partie 2.
La tâche principale des comités techniques est d'élaborer les Normes internationales. Les projets de Normes

La présente Norme internationale spécifie les exigences techniques relatives aux revêtements métalliques et
autres revêtements inorganiques afin d'élaborer des normes techniques cohérentes, de faciliter la
compréhension des exigences techniques et de garantir une présentation normalisée.
La présente Norme internationale fournit des lignes directrices destinées aux rédacteurs de normes
techniques et une aide pour l'interprétation des Normes internationales relatives aux revêtements métalliques
et autres revêtements inorganiques, à l'attention des utilisateurs, des acheteurs et des spécialistes du
revêtement.

1 Domaine d'application
La présente Norme internationale spécifie les exigences techniques relatives aux revêtements métalliques et
autres revêtements inorganiques afin d'élaborer des normes techniques cohérentes, et établit un format
normalisé pour désigner les revêtements. Elle s'applique aux Normes internationales relatives aux dépôts par
voie électrolytique, autocatalytique et en phase vapeur.
Les exigences techniques détaillées s'appliquant à des revêtements spécifiques ne sont pas fournies dans la
présente Norme internationale, mais elles peuvent être trouvées dans les Normes internationales citées dans
la Bibliographie.
La présente Norme internationale ne s'applique pas aux revêtements déposés par projection thermique ou
par émaillage.
La présente Norme internationale n'est pas destinée à être citée dans des normes techniques, spécifications
de produits, contrats, bons de commande ou sur des dessins industriels, car le fait d'invoquer une «méthode
de spécification» dans ces documents ne constitue pas une obligation contractuelle.

4 Informations à fournir par l'acheteur à l'électroplaste (ou au spécialiste du
revêtement)
4.1 Informations essentielles
L'acheteur doit fournir les informations essentielles requises dans ce paragraphe, par écrit, en tant que partie
intégrante du contrat, du bon de commande, de la spécification de produit détaillée et/ou des dessins
techniques.
Les informations essentielles doivent inclure les points suivants, avec référence, entre parenthèses, aux
articles et paragraphes fournissant des précisions supplémentaires relatives aux exigences et aux méthodes
d'essai.
a) Le numéro de la Norme internationale et la désignation spécifiée dans la dite Norme internationale
(voir Article 5);

b) L'aspect requis, par exemple: brillant, mat, satiné, de préférence avec des échantillons ayant la finition
requise (voir Article 6);
c) La surface significative, indiquée par des dessins ou par des échantillons dûment repérés (voir Article 6);
d) La nature, l'état et la finition du matériau de base, s'ils affectent l'aptitude à l'usage et/ou l'aspect du
revêtement (voir Article 6);
e) L'emplacement des défauts inévitables sur la surface tels que marques de contact ou de support
(voir Article 6);
f) Les exigences relatives au traitement thermique avant et/ou après revêtement (voir Article 6);
g) Les normes permettant de déterminer que les exigences d'épaisseur, de tenue à la corrosion,
d'adhérence, de porosité et autres sont respectées (voir Article 6);
h) Les méthodes d'échantillonnage, les niveaux d'acceptation et les exigences d'inspection aux fins de
contrôle de la qualité (voir Article 7).
Le Paragraphe 4.1 doit apparaître dans tous les documents relatifs aux revêtements. Les points ci-dessus
doivent figurer dans l'ordre indiqué à l'Article 6.
4.2 Informations complémentaires
Ce paragraphe doit fournir les informations complémentaires, ne figurant pas en 4.1, éventuellement
nécessaires pour un revêtement, un produit ou une application particulière.
Il peut s'agir d'exigences particulières concernant la préparation des surfaces avant revêtement, la
récupération des rebuts, la rugosité de la finition et toute autre exigence s'appliquant à une application, un
produit ou un revêtement particulier.
5 Désignation
5.1 Généralités
5.1.1 Spécification de désignation
Le système de désignation défini dans les Directives ISO est constitué d'un bloc ou module de description, du
bloc ou module correspondant au numéro de la Norme internationale et du bloc ou module produit, comme le
montre la Figure 1. Le module «numéro de Norme internationale» doit être séparé du module «produit» par
un tiret.
La désignation consiste en des caractères qui doivent être des lettres, des chiffres ou des signes. Les seuls
signes autorisés sont le tiret (-), la barre oblique (/) et la virgule (,). Dans le cas des revêtements métalliques
et organiques, l'utilisation des parenthèses doit être autorisée dans le bloc ou module «produit», pour des
raisons de clarté.

5.1.2 Modules «description» et «numéro de Norme internationale»
Le module «description» décrit brièvement le revêtement désigné. Le module de description suivant doit être
utilisé pour désigner les revêtements relevant du domaine d'application de l'ISO/TC 107:
a) dépôts électrolytiques;
b) dépôts autocatalytiques;
c) dépôts en phase vapeur.
Le module «description» doit être suivi du numéro de la Norme internationale concernant le revêtement
[1] [4] [11]
désigné; par exemple, ISO 1456 , ISO 2081 , ISO 4527 , etc.
Le bloc d'identité comprend le module «numéro de la Norme internationale» plus le module «produit», les
deux étant indispensables pour la désignation des exigences relatives au revêtement.
5.1.3 Module «produit»
Le module «produit» désigne les points suivants:
a) le matériau de base (voir 5.2);
b) l'alliage spécifique (facultatif) (voir 5.2);
c) les exigences de relaxation des contraintes, si nécessaire (voir 5.3);
d) le type et l'épaisseur des sous-couches éventuelles (voir 5.4);
e) le revêtement et son épaisseur locale minimale (voir 5.4);
f) le type de revêtement (voir 5.4);
g) le type et l'épaisseur des dépôts appliqués sur le revêtement désigné, le cas échéant (voir 5.4);
h) les traitements ultérieurs, incluant les traitements thermiques, si nécessaire (voir 5.3).
Chacune de ces étapes de l'élaboration du revêtement est séparée par une barre oblique (/). Un double
séparateur ou une double barre oblique indique qu'une étape du processus n'est pas requise ou a été omise.
