Binders for paints and varnishes — Epoxy resins — General methods of test

ISO 7142:2007 specifies general methods of test for epoxy resins for use in paints, varnishes and similar products. It is also applicable to those solutions made from epoxy resins that are intended for use as binders for paints and varnishes. The test methods described are not intended for epoxy esters.

Предисловие
Международная организация по стандартизации (ISO) является всемирной федерацией национальных
организаций по стандартизации (комитетов-членов ISO). Разработка международных стандартов
обычно осуществляется техническими комитетами ISO. Каждый комитет-член ISO, заинтересованный

1 Область применения
Настоящий международный стандарт устанавливает общие методы испытания эпоксидных смол,
применяемых для красок, лаков и относящихся к ним продуктов. Он также применим к растворам,
приготовленным из эпоксидных смол, которые предназначены для использования в качестве
пленкообразующих для красок и лаков.
Методы испытания, применяемые для конкретной эпоксидной смолы, должны быть согласованы
между заинтересованными сторонами.
Методы испытания, описанные в настоящем международном стандарте, не предназначены для
эпоксиэфиров (см. ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ в 3.1).

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.
The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International Standards
adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an
International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.

1 Scope
This International Standard specifies general methods of test for epoxy resins for use in paints, varnishes and
similar products. It is also applicable to those solutions made from epoxy resins that are intended for use as
binders for paints and varnishes.
The test methods to be applied to an individual epoxy resin shall be the subject of agreement between the
interested parties.
The test methods described in this International Standard are not intended for epoxy esters (see Note to 3.1).

1 Domaine d'application
La présente Norme internationale spécifie des méthodes générales d’essai des résines époxydiques
destinées à être utilisées dans les peintures, vernis et produits assimilés. Elle est également applicable aux
solutions de résines époxydiques prévues pour être utilisées comme liants pour peintures et vernis.
Les méthodes d’essai à appliquer à une résine époxydique particulière feront l’objet d’un accord entre les
parties intéressées.
Les méthodes d’essai décrites dans la présente Norme internationale ne sont pas destinées aux esters
époxydiques (voir la Note en 3.1).
