BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 355, Rolling Bearings. Tapered Roller Bearings, Boundary
Dimensions, Part ZZ, was drawn up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 4, Rolling Bearings, the
Secretariat of which is held by the Sveriges Standardiseringskomission (SIS).
Work on this question by the Technical Committee began in 1958 and led, in 1961, to the
adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendstion.
In January 1963, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 472) was circulated to all the IS0
Member Bodies for enquiry. It was approved by the following Member Bodies:

Hungary Sweden
Belgium India Switzerland
Canada Italy Turkey
Chile Japan United Kingdom
Czechoslovakia Netherlands U.S.S.R.
France
Poland Yugoslavia
Germany Romania
No Member Body opposed the approval of the Draft.
The Draft IS0 Recommendation was then submitted by correspondence to the IS0 Council,
which decided, in December 1965, to accept it as an IS0 RECOMMENDATION.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation lSO/R 355, Roulements - Dimensions d’encombrement des roulements
à rouleaux coniques. Deuxième partie, a été élaborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 4, Rou-
lements, dont le Secrétariat est assuré par la Sveriges Standardiseringskommission (SIS).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question furent entrepris par le Comité Technique en 1958
et aboutirrnt en 1961 à l’adoption d’a Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En janvier 1963, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (NO 472) fut soumis à l’enquête de tous
les Comités Membres de I’ISO. I1 fut approuvé par les Comités Membres suivants:

l’BO qui décida, en décembre 1965, de l’accepter comme RECOMMANDATION ISO.
