BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 201, Rolling Bearings. Radial Internal Clearance in Unloaded
Radial Groove Type Ball Bearings with Cylindrical Bore-Values, was drawn up by Technical
Committee ISO/TC 4, Ball and Roller Bearings, the Secretariat of which is held by the Sveri-
ges Standardiseringskommission (SIS).
Technical Committee ISO/TC 4 discussed the questions dealt with by this IS0 Recommenda-
tion at the following meetings :
fourth meeting, held in Madrid, in May 1955,
fifth meeting, held in Vienna, in September 1956.
At the third meeting of the Technical Committee, Working Group No. 4 was appointed to
assist the ISO/TC 4 Secretariat in preparatory work and in drawing up proposals regarding toler-
ances. The Working Group, composed of the following Member Bodies : France, Germany,
Italy, Sweden, United Kingdom and U.S.A., held the following meetings:
first meeting, in Madrid, in May 1955,
second meeting, in Vienna, in September 1956.
On 11 July 1958, the Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 156-Chapter 4) was distributed to
all the IS0 Members and was approved, subject to some modifications, by the following Member
Bodies :

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 201, Roulements. Jeu radial interne des roulements rigides à
alésage cylindrique non chargés - Valeurs, a été élaborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 4,
Roulements (à billes, à rouleaux, etc.), dont le Secrétariat est assuré par la Sveriges Standardisrings-
kommission (SIS).
Le Comité Technique ISO/TC 4 a discuté les questions faisant l’objet de ladite Recomman-
dation IS0 au cours des réunions suivantes:
quatrième réunion, tenue à Madrid, en mai 1955,
cinquième réunion, tenue à Vienne, en septembre 1956.
Au cours de sa troisième réunion, le Comité Technique institua le Groupe de Travail NO 4
pour assister le Secrétariat d’ISO/TC 4 dans la préparation et la rédaction de propositions con-
cernant les tolérances. Ce Groupe de Travail, composé des Comités Membres suivants : Allemagne,
France, Italie, Royaume-Uni, Suède et U.S.A., a tenu les réunions suivantes:
première réunion, à Madrid, en mai 1955,
deuxième réunion, à Vienne, en septembre 1956.
En date du 11 juillet 1958, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (No 156 - Chapitre 4) fut dis-
tribué à tous les Membres de l’HO et fut approuvé, sous réserve de quelques modifications, par
les Comités Membres suivants:
