BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 465, Rolling Bearings - Double ROM. Self-aligning Roller
Bearings-Radial Internal Clearance, was drawn up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 4,
Rolling Bearings, the Secretariat of which is held by the Sveriges Standardiseringskom-
mission (SIS).
Work on this question by the Technical Committee began in 1959 and led, in 1961,
to the adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In March 1963, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 470) was circulated to all the
IS0 Member Bodies for enquiry. It was approved by the following Member Bodies :

Chile Italy United Kingdom
Czechoslovakia Japan U.S.A.

Germany Poland Yugoslavia
No Member Body opposed the approval of the Draft.
The Draft IS0 Recommendation was then submitted by correspondence to the IS0
Council which decided, in December 1965, to accept it as an TSO RECOMMENDATTON.

Values of the radial internal clearance, as defined in IS0 Recommendation R 200,* are given
for cylindrical bore bearings in Table 1 and
for tapered bore bearings in Table 2.

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 465, Roulements - Roulements Ù rotule sur deux rangkes
de rouleaux - Jeu interne radid, a été élaborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 4, Roule-
ments, dont le Secrétariat est assuré par la Sveriges Standardiseringskommission (SIS).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question furent entrepris par le Comité Technique en
1959 et aboutirent en 1961 à l’adoption d’un Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En mars 1963, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (No 470) fut soumis à l’enquête
de tous les Comités Membres de 1’ISO. II fut approuvé par les Comités Membres suivants :

Le Projet de Recommandation IS0 fut alors soumis par correspondance au Conseil
de 1’ISO qui décida, en décembre 1965, de l’accepter comme RECOMMANDATION ISO.
