Conveyor belts - Electrical conductivity - Specification and test method (ISO 284:2003)

This International Standard specifies the maximum electrical resistance of a conveyor belt and the corresponding method of test. The test is intended to ensure that the belt is sufficiently conductive to avoid the accumulation of electrical static charge which may be developed during service use. This International Standard is not suitable or valid for light conveyor belts as described by EN 873 the static electrical properties of which are measured by EN 1637.

Fördergurte - Elektrische Leitfähigkeit - Spezifikation und Prüfverfahren (ISO 284:2003)

Diese Internationale Norm legt den größten elektrischen Widerstand eines Fördergurtes und das entsprechende Prüfverfahren fest.
Mit der Prüfung soll sichergestellt werden, dass der Gurt genügend leitfähig ist, um eine Erhöhung elektrostatischer Aufladungen zu verhindern, die während des Betriebes ent-stehen können.
Diese Internationale Norm ist  nicht geeignet oder anwendbar für leichte Fördergurte, die in EN 873 [1] beschrieben sind. Deren elektrische Eigenschaften werden nach EN 1637 [2] gemes-sen.

Courroies transporteuses - Conductibilité électrique - Spécification et méthode d'essai (ISO 284:2003)

L'ISO 284:2003 spécifie la résistance électrique maximale que doit présenter une courroie transporteuse, ainsi que la méthode d'essai de mesure correspondante.
Cet essai est destiné à s'assurer que la courroie est suffisamment conductrice pour écouler les charges d'électricité statique qui pourraient s'y former en service.
L'ISO 284:2003 ne convient pas et n'est pas applicable aux courroies transporteuses légères décrites dans l'EN 873, dont les propriétés d'électricité statique sont mesurées conformément à l'EN 1637.

This document (EN ISO 284:2003) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 41
"Pulleys and belts (including veebelts)" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 188
"Conveyor belts", the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2004, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by February 2004.
This document supersedes EN 20284:1993.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Czech
Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy,

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
