1.1   Product definition
This standard contains the initial, start of life dimensional, optical, mechanical and environmental performance requirements for an assembled singlemode cord with cylindrical ferruled connectors to meet in order for it to be categorized as an EN standard product.
Since different variants and grades of performance are permitted, product marking details are given in 3.5 and Clause 4.
1.2   Intermateability of the plugs
Although all products conforming to the requirements of this standard are meant to intermate, the resulting level of random attenuation performance will only be ensured in accordance with Table 1. The intention is that this will be true irrespective of the manufacturing source(s) of the product.
When intermating plug variants having different attenuation grades as specified in EN 61755 1, the resulting level of attenuation cannot be ensured to be any better than the worst attenuation grade.
The intermating of a grade C plug with a grade B plug will result in a grade C level of random attenuation performance.

1.3   Operating environment
The tests selected combined with the severities and durations are representative of an EN 61753 1 category C environment.
1.4   Reliability
Whilst the anticipated service life expectancy of the product in this environment is 20 years, compliance with this standard does not guarantee the reliability of the product. This should be predicted using a recognized reliability assessment programme.
1.5   Quality assurance
Compliance with this standard does not guarantee the manufacturing consistency of the product. This should be maintained using a recognized quality assurance programme.

1.1   Produktdefinition
Diese Norm enthält die Anfangsanforderungen, die Maßanforderungen, die optischen und mechanischen Anforderungen am Anfang der Lebensdauer sowie die umweltbezogenen Anforderungen an das Betriebsverhalten, die ein konfektioniertes Einmodenkabel mit Steckverbindern mit zylindrischen Ferrulen erfüllen muss, um als EN-Normprodukt eingestuft zu werden.
Da verschiedene Varianten und Leistungsklassen zulässig sind, werden in 3.5 und Abschnitt 4 Einzelheiten zur Produktkennzeichnung angegeben.
1.2   Steckbarkeit der Steckverbinder
Obwohl alle Produkte, die den Anforderungen dieser Norm entsprechen, als steckbar vorgesehen sind, werden die resultierenden Pegel der zufälligen Dämpfung nur nach Tabelle 1 zugesichert. Das Ziel ist die Einhaltung der Anforderungen unabhängig von der/den Herstellungsquelle(n) des Produktes.
Beim Stecken von Steckverbindervarianten mit unterschiedlichen Dämpfungsklassen nach EN 61755 1 kann nicht sichergestellt werden, dass der resultierende Dämpfungspegel besser ist als die schlechteste Dämpfungsklasse.
Die Steckung eines Steckverbinders der Klasse C mit einem Steckverbinder der Klasse B ergibt ein zufälliges Dämpfungsverhalten der Klasse C.

1.3   Betriebsumgebung
Die ausgewählten Prüfungen zusammen mit den Prüfschärfen und Prüfdauern gelten für Umgebungen der Kategorie C nach EN 61753 1.
1.4   Zuverlässigkeit
Obwohl die Lebensdauererwartung für das Produkt in dieser Umgebung 20 Jahre beträgt, garantiert die Einhaltung dieser Norm nicht die Zuverlässigkeit des Produktes. Diese sollte mit einem anerkannten Zuverlässigkeitsbewertungsprogramm beurteilt werden.

1.1 Opredelitev izdelka
Ta standard vsebuje začetne dimenzijske, optične, mehanske in okoljske zahteve, ki jih mora na začetku svoje življenjske dobe izpolnjevati enorodna vrvica s konektorji z valjastimi tuljkami, da se lahko kategorizira kot izdelek v skladu s standardom EN.
Ker so dovoljene različne izvedbe in stopnje delovanja, so podrobnosti o označevanju izdelkov podane v točkah 3.5 in 4.
1.2 Medsebojna združljivost vtičev
Čeprav bi naj bili vsi izdelki, ki ustrezajo zahtevam iz tega standarda, medsebojno združljivi, bo posledična raven naključnega slabljenja zagotovljena le v skladu s Tabelo 1. Namen tega je, da bo tako ne glede na vir(e) proizvodnje izdelka.

1 Scope
1.1 Product definition

requirements for an assembled single mode cord with cylindrical ferruled connectors to meet in order for it to
be categorized as an EN standard product.
Since different variants and grades of performance are permitted, product marking details are given in 4.5 and
Clause 5.
1.2 Intermateability of the plugs
Although all products conforming to the requirements of this standard are meant to intermate, the resulting

60 1 Scope
61 1.1 Product definition
62 This standard contains the initial, start of life dimensional, optical, mechanical and environmental performance
63 requirements for an assembled singlemode cord with cylindrical ferruled connectors to meet in order for it to
64 be categorized as an EN standard product.
65 Since different variants and grades of performance are permitted, product marking details are given in 3.5 and
66 Clause 4.
67 1.2 Intermateability of the plugs
68 Although all products conforming to the requirements of this standard are meant to intermate, the resulting
69 level of random attenuation performance will only be ensured in accordance with Table 1. The intention is that
70 this will be true irrespective of the manufacturing source(s) of the product.
71 When intermating plug variants having different attenuation grades as specified in EN 61755-1, the resulting
72 level of attenuation cannot be ensured to be any better than the worst attenuation grade.
73 The intermating of a grade C plug with a grade B plug will result in a grade C level of random attenuation
74 performance.

77 The tests selected combined with the severities and durations are representative of an EN 61753-1 category C

80 Whilst the anticipated service life expectancy of the product in this environment is 20 years, compliance with
81 this standard does not guarantee the reliability of the product. This should be predicted using a recognized
82 reliability assessment programme.
