Rubber hoses and hose assemblies - Wire- or textile-reinforced single-pressure types for hydraulic applications - Specification (ISO 18752:2022)

This document specifies requirements for ten classes, four grades and seven types of wire- or textilereinforced hydraulic hoses and hose assemblies of nominal sizes ranging from 5 to 102. Each class has a
single maximum working pressure for all sizes.
They are suitable for use with:
— oil-based hydraulic fluids HH, HL, HM, HR and HV as defined in ISO 6743-4 at temperatures ranging
from −40 °C to +100 °C for types AS, AC, BS and BC hoses and from −40 °C to +120 °C for types CS, CC
and DC hoses.
— water-based fluids HFC, HFAE, HFAS and HFB as defined in ISO 6743-4 at temperatures ranging
from −40 °C to +70 °C.
— water at temperatures ranging from 0 °C to +70 °C.
This document does not include requirements for the connection ends. It is limited to the performance
of hoses and hose assemblies. The hose assembly maximum working pressure is governed by the lowest
maximum working pressure of the components.
NOTE It is the responsibility of the user, in consultation with the hose manufacturer, to establish the
compatibility of the hose with the fluid to be used.

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an zehn Kategorien, vier Klassen und sieben Typen von draht- oder textilverstärkten Hydraulikschläuchen und -schlauchleitungen mit Nenngrößen im Bereich von 5 bis 102 fest. Jede Kategorie hat bei allen Größen einen einzigen maximalen Betriebsdruck.
Sie sind für den Gebrauch mit:
- ölbasierte Hydraulikflüssigkeiten HH, HL, HM, HR und HV geeignet, wie in ISO 6743-4 festgelegt, bei Temperaturen im Bereich von −40 °C bis +100 °C für Typen AS, AC, BS und BC und von −40 °C bis +120 °C für Typen CS, CC und DC;
- den in ISO 6743-4 festgelegten wasserbasierten Flüssigkeiten HFC, HFAE, HFAS und HFB in einem Temperaturbereich von −40 °C bis +70 °C geeignet;
- Wasser bei Temperaturen im Bereich von 0 °C bis +70 °C geeignet;
Dieses Dokument enthält keine Anforderungen an die Anschlussstutzen. Sie ist auf die Leistung von Schläuchen und Schlauchleitungen begrenzt. Der maximale Betriebsdruck einer Schlauchleitung wird durch den geringsten maximalen Betriebsdruck der Komponenten bestimmt.
ANMERKUNG Es liegt in der Verantwortung des Benutzers, in Absprache mit dem Schlauchhersteller, die Verträglichkeit des Schlauches mit der Flüssigkeit, die verwendet wird, sicherzustellen.

Le présent document spécifie des exigences pour dix classes, quatre grades et sept types de tuyaux et flexibles hydrauliques avec armature de fils métalliques tressés de dimensions nominales comprises entre 5 et 102. Chaque classe a une pression maximale de service unique pour toutes les dimensions.
Ils sont adaptés pour une utilisation avec:
—    des fluides hydrauliques HH, HL, HM, HR et HV tels que définis dans l’ISO 6743-4 pour une plage de températures de –40 °C à +100 °C pour les tuyaux de types AS, AC, BS et BC et de –40 °C à +120 °C pour les tuyaux de types CS, CC et DC.

Vsak razred ima en sam največji delovni tlak za vse velikosti. Primerni so za uporabo s/z: – hidravličnimi tekočinami na oljni osnovi HH, HL, HM, HR in HV, kot je opredeljeno v standardu ISO 6743-4 pri temperaturah od –40 °C do 100 °C za vrste cevi AS, AC, BS in BC ter od –40 °C do 120 °C za vrste cevi CS, CC in DC; – tekočinami na vodni osnovi HFC, HFAE, HFAS in HFB, kot je opredeljeno v standardu ISO 6743-4 pri temperaturah od –40 °C do 70 °C; – vodo pri temperaturah od 0 °C do 70 °C. identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by October 2022.

(Vienna Agreement).
This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition (ISO 18752:2014), which has been technically
revised.
The main changes are as follows:
— the scope has been extended to water-based fluid, in order to align the document with ISO 1436,
ISO 3862 and ISO 4079;
— in 7.1.2:
— “For all grades” was replaced with “For types AS, AC, BS and BC”;
— a new temperature condition of 120 °C was added;
— a new subclause 7.1.3 was added;
— in Annex B, Table B.1, change in length test per batch, was replaced “X” with “N/A”.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards

This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition (ISO 18752:2014), which has been technically
revised.
The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:
— Scope is extended to water-based fluid, in order to align the standard with ISO 1436, ISO 3861 and
ISO 4079

Rubber hoses and hose assemblies — Wire- or textile-
reinforced single-pressure types for hydraulic applications
— Specification
1 Scope
This document specifies requirements for ten classes, four grades and seven types of wire- or textile-
reinforced hydraulic hoses and hose assemblies of nominal sizes ranging from 5 to 102. Each class has a
single maximum working pressure for all sizes.
They are suitable for use with:
— oil-based hydraulic fluids HH, HL, HM, HR and HV as defined in ISO 6743-4 at temperatures ranging
from −40 °C to +100 °C for types AS, AC, BS and BC hoses and from −40 °C to +120 °C for types CS, CC
and DC hoses;
— water-based fluids HFC, HFAE, HFAS and HFB as defined in ISO 6743-4 at temperatures ranging
from −40 °C to +70 °C;
— water at temperatures ranging from 0 °C to +70 °C;
This document does not include requirements for the connection ends. It is limited to the performance
of hoses and hose assemblies. The hose assembly maximum working pressure is governed by the lowest
maximum working pressure of the components.
NOTE It is the responsibility of the user, in consultation with the hose manufacturer, to establish the
compatibility of the hose with the fluid to be used.

4 Classification
4.1 Classes
Ten classes of hose are specified, distinguished by their maximum working pressure, as shown in
Table 1. Each class may be manufactured in up to 14 nominal sizes.

4.2 Grades and types
Hoses are classified into four grades according to their resistance to impulse: A, B, C and D. Each grade
is classified by outside diameter into standard types (AS, BS and CS) and compact types (AC, BC, CC and
DC), as shown in Table 2.

As shown in Table 4 and Table 8, standard types have larger outside diameters and larger bend radii and compact types
have smaller outside diameters and smaller bend radii.

5 Materials and construction
5.1 Hoses
Hoses shall consist of a hydraulic-fluid-resistant rubber lining, one or multiple layers of steel wire
or textile and an oil-, abrasion- and weather-resistant rubber cover. A layer of other materials on the
rubber cover is allowed for improved resistance to abrasion or other.
