It is essential that EPS products with a reaction to fire performance better than Euroclass F be manufactured from raw materials with a chemical composition, which is under the control of the raw material producer. This Technical Report specifies the conditions allowing reduction of the FPC frequency for testing the reaction to fire of specimens made from flame retardant EPS raw material. The preconditions are that products are manufactured solely from a specified, certified raw material, within defined density limits, and produced in the way specified by the raw material supplier. The frequency of testing the final product can be reduced in accordance with EN 13163:2008, Annex B, Table B.2 footnote to table h. It is essential that the reaction to fire performance of the raw material be labelled according to 9.2 in the certificate from an approved body (see EN 13172:2008, 5.3.3 and Annex A). The certification of the raw material relates only to products for which the reaction to fire Euroclass E according to EN 13501-1 is being claimed. The manufacturer of the EPS boards / products continues to be responsible for the FPC of the EPS boards / products. This Technical Report is in accordance with the general rules of EN 13172.

EPS-Produkte mit einem besseren Brandverhalten als Euroklasse F sind aus Rohstoffen mit einer chemischen Zusammensetzung herzustellen, die der Kontrolle des Rohstoffherstellers unterliegt.
Dieser Technische Bericht legt die Bedingungen für die Reduzierung der Häufigkeit der werkseigenen Produktions¬kontrolle zur Prüfung des Brandverhaltens von Prüfkörpern aus flammenhemmendem EPS-Rohstoff fest. Es wird vorausgesetzt, dass die Produkte ausschließlich aus einem vorgeschriebenen zertifi-zierten Rohstoff mit festgelegten Dichtebeschränkungen hergestellt werden und wie vom Rohstoffzulieferer vorgeschrieben produziert werden.
Die Häufigkeit der Prüfung des Endproduktes kann nach EN 13163:2008, Anhang B, Tabelle B.2, Fußnote h verringert werden. Das Brandverhalten des Rohstoffs ist nach 9.2 im Zertifikat einer anerkannten Prüfstelle anzugeben (siehe EN 13172, 5.3.3 und Anhang A).
Die Zertifizierung des Rohstoffs betrifft nur Produkte, für deren Brandverhalten Euroklasse E nach EN 13501 1 beansprucht wird. Der Hersteller der EPS-Platten/ Produkte bleibt verantwortlich für die werkseigene Produktionskontrolle von EPS-Platten/-Produkten.
Dieser Technische Bericht stimmt mit den allgemeinen Festlegungen von EN 13172 überein.

Pomembno je, da se proizvodi iz ekspandiranega polistirena (EPS) z zmogljivostjo odziva na ogenj vsaj Evrorazreda F izdelujejo iz surovin s kemično sestavo, ki je pod nadzorom proizvajalca surovine. To tehnično poročilo določa pogoje, ki omogočajo zmanjšanje pogostosti kontrole proizvodnje za preskušanje odziva na ogenj vzorcev, narejenih iz negorljivih surovin iz ekspandiranega polistirena. Predpogoj za to je, da so proizvodi narejeni izključno iz določene certificirane surovine z definiranimi mejami gostote in na način, ki ga določi proizvajalec surovine. Pogostost preskušanja končnega proizvoda se lahko zmanjša v skladu z EN 13163:2008, Dodatek B, preglednica B.2, opomba k preglednici h. Ključnega pomena je, da se zmogljivost odziva na ogenj surovine označi v skladu s točko 9.2 v certifikatu pooblaščenega organa (glej EN 13172:2008, 5.3.3, in Dodatek A). Certificiranje surovine se nanaša le na proizvode, za katere se zahteva požarna odpornost Evrorazreda E v skladu z EN 13501-1. Za kontrolo proizvodnje plošč/proizvodov iz ekspandiranega polistirena je še naprej odgovoren njihov proizvajalec. To tehnično poročilo je v skladu s splošnimi pravili iz EN 13172.

Introduction
EN 13163 contains an option in Annex B, Table B.2 to change the frequency for the reaction to fire test
according to EN ISO 11925-2 from once per day to once per week. A reduction of the frequency in the FPC is
possible according to note to table h of Table B.2, if a certified raw material has been used.
Since rules on how to certify EPS raw material are still missing this option could not be chosen yet. That is
why the following rules have been developed and issued by TC 88. These rules may be applied by the raw
material suppliers and the involved bodies to certify the raw materials until the following text has been
incorporated in the next revision of EN 13163:2008.
