INTERNATIONAL STANDARD IS0 1625-1977 (E) Plastics - Aqueous dispersions of polymers and copolymers - Determination of residue at 105 "C 1 SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of residue of aqueous dispersions at 105 OC. The procedure is suitable for all aqueous polymer and copolymer dispersions which are chemically stable at the test temperature and which do not contain other volatile matter such as organic solvents. The residue of unplasticized aqueous polymer and copolymer dispersions consists essentially of the polymer or copolymer and of a small quantity of additives, such as emulsifiers, protective colloids, etc. For plasticized dispersions, the plasticizer is included in the residue. Under the conditions of temperature and time adopted in this method, the product should not show any thermal degradation; otherwise different conditions should be used and specified in the test report.
