The work ofpreparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISOtechnical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for whicha technical committee has been established has the right to be representedon that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISOcollaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission(IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees arecirculated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an InternationalStandard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies castinga vote.International Standard ISO 8739 was prepared by Technical CommitteeISO/TC 2, Fasteners. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 8739:1986),which has been technically revised.SIST EN ISO 8739:2001

© ISOISO 8739:1997(E)1Grooved pins — Full-length parallel grooved, with pilot1
ScopeThis International Standard specifies the characteristics of full-length parallel grooved pins, made of steel oraustenitic stainless steel, with pilot which have three equally spaced grooves impressed longitudinally on theirexterior surface and a pilot to facilitate insertion, with nominal diameter, d1, from 1,5 mm to 25 mm inclusive. The displaced material to each side of the grooves forming an expanded diameter d2 which is larger than thenominal diameter d1 will cause a non-positive locking fit when these grooved pins are forced into a drilled holeequal to the nominal diameter d1 (see clause 4).2
