This European Standard specifies the requirements for the classification of textile floor coverings without pile into use classes in respect of wear and appearance retention, and classes for luxury rating. This standard is applicable to all textile floor coverings without pile that are not covered in other standards, including EN 1307, EN 1470 and EN 13297.
This standard refers to the classification as defined in EN 685.
This standard is also applicable to tiles, the additional requirements for which are given in Annex A.
This standard is not applicable to rugs.
The symbols for the use classes, luxury rating classes and additional characteristics are listed in
CEN/TS 15398 and can also be found on www.floorsymbols.com .

Die vorliegende Norm bezieht sich auf die Einstufung nach EN 685.
Diese Norm gilt auch für Fliesen, für die die zusätzlichen Anforderungen in Anhang A enthalten sind.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences relatives à la classification en classes d’usage des revêtements de sol textiles sans velours, en fonction de la résistance à l’usure et de la conservation d’aspect, ainsi qu’en fonction des classes de confort. La présente Norme s’applique à tous les revêtements de sol sans velours non traités dans d’autres normes, y compris dans l’EN 1307, l’EN 1470 et l’EN 13297.
La présente Norme se rapporte à la classification telle que définie par l’EN 685.
Cette Norme s’applique également aux dalles dont les exigences complémentaires figurent à l’Annexe A.
Cette Norme ne s’applique pas aux carpettes.

Textile Bodenbeläge - Einstufung textiler Bodenbeläge ohne Pol This European Standard was approved by CEN on 14 August 2006 and includes Corrigendum 1 issued by CEN on 24 October 2007 and Amendment 1 approved by CEN on 30 July 2008.

Textile floor coverings — Determination of electrical resistance 3 Identification requirements This clause specifies the characteristics for identifying the product and tolerance requirements for the identifying properties. The manufacturer shall provide the following information in accordance with the definitions in ISO 2424:1992:  commercial references;  type of installation (loose laid, adhered, .);  type of backing;  type of manufacture

EN 15114:2006+A1:2008 (E) 7 4.2 Levels of use & classification 4.2.1 General Textile floor coverings without pile are classified as to their suitability for use according to different circumstances (see Table 3). The two classification properties, wear and change in appearance, are intended to indicate suitability according to use intensity (level of classes 21 to 33 in increasing order of use intensity). The symbols for the use classes, luxury rating classes and additional characteristics are listed in CEN/TS 15398 and can also be found on www.floorsymbols.com . The level of use class allocated to a floor covering is the lower of the classes obtained after application of 4.2.2, 4.2.3 and 4.2.4. Table 3 — Levels of use

Heavy a Class 33 should be used as the basis to which additional requirements are added to provide an individual full specification.
The symbols for the use classes and examples of use as stated in EN 685 are listed in CEN/TS 15398. 4.2.2 Classification for change in appearance Carpets shall be tested in accordance with ISO 10361 in either the Hexapod or the Vettermann apparatus using the number of cycles for short and long term tests specified in Table 4. The tested specimens shall be assessed in accordance with EN 1471 and the median grade for overall change in appearance shall conform to the requirements specified in Table 4.
