Hexagon nuts, style 1, with metric fine pitch thread - Product grades A and B (ISO 8673:2012)
This International Standard specifies the geometry of hexagon nuts with nominal thread diameter from 8 mm up to and including 64 mm and the mechanical properties of hexagon regular nuts (style 1) with metric fine pitch thread in product grade A for nominal thread diameters 8 mm ≤ D ≤ 16 mm and in product grade B for nominal diameters 16 mm < D ≤ 39 mm. If, in special cases, specifications other than those listed in this International Standard are required, they can be selected from existing International Standards, for example ISO 724, ISO 898-2, ISO 965-1, ISO 3506-2 and ISO 4759-1. NOTE As there is an insufficient nut height due to the fine pitch thread, there is a higher probability of nut thread stripping. Hence, high nuts (style 2) according to ISO 8674 are preferably used.

Diese Internationale Norm legt Eigenschaften von Sechskantmuttern, Typ 1, mit metrischem Feingewinde mit Gewindenenndurchmessern D von 8 mm bis 64 mm fest. Für die Gewindenenndurchmesser D 16 mm gilt Produktklasse A und für die Gewindenenndurchmesser D 16 mm Produktklasse B.
Falls in besonderen Fällen andere Festlegungen als die in dieser Internationalen Norm aufgeführten benötigt werden, können diese den entsprechenden Internationalen Normen entnommen werden, z. B. ISO 724, ISO 898 2, ISO 965 1, ISO 3506 2 und ISO 4759 1.
Sechskantmuttern mit Regelgewinde, Typ 1, nach ISO 4032 sollten bevorzugt werden.
ANMERKUNG 1 Sechskantmuttern, Typ 2, mit Feingewinde, siehe ISO 8674.
ANMERKUNG 2 In der Praxis sollten Typ 2-Muttern nach ISO 8674 gegenüber Muttern vom Typ 1 nach dieser Inter-nationalen Norm bevorzugt werden, da deren größere Mutterhöhe das Risiko des Gewindeabstreifens minimiert.

Ta mednarodni standard določa geometrijo šestrobih nizkih matic z nazivnimi premeri navoja od 8 mm do vključno 64 mm in mehanične lastnosti šestrobnih matic (tip 1) z metrskim drobnim navojem razreda izdelave A za nazivne premere navoja 8 mm ≤ D ≤ 16 mm in razredom izdelave B za nazivne premere navoja 16 mm < D ≤ 39 mm. Če so v posebnih primerih zahtevane specifikacije, ki niso navedene v tem mednarodnem standardu, jih je mogoče izbrati iz obstoječih mednarodnih standardov, na primer standardov ISO 724, ISO 898-2, ISO 965-1, ISO 3506-2 in ISO 4759-1. OPOMBA Ker zaradi drobnega navoja matice niso dovolj visoke, obstaja večja verjetnost, da se navoj pobere. Zato se priporoča uporaba visokih matic (tip 2) v skladu s standardom ISO 8674.

collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 185 “Fasteners” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
