CEN/TC 107/WG 2 - Basic consideration

This document specifies requirements and test methods for straight lengths of factory made thermally insulated bonded single pipe assemblies for hot water networks in accordance with EN 13941-1, comprising a steel service pipe, polyurethane foam thermal insulation and a casing of polyethylene.
The pipe assembly can also include the following additional elements: measuring wires, spacers and diffusion barriers.

This document compiles a vocabulary of terms, with their definitions, applied in the field of district heating and district cooling pipe systems with factory made system components. Only terms which are particular to the pertinent field in CEN/TC 107 are included.

The pipe assembly may also include the following additional elements: measuring wires, spacers and diffusion barriers.
This standard applies only to insulated pipe assemblies, for continuous operation with hot water at various temperatures up to 120 °C and occasionally with a peak temperature up to 140 °C.
The estimation of expected thermal life with continuous operation at various temperatures is outlined in Annex B.

This standard applies only to insulated twin pipe assemblies, for continuous operation with hot water at various temperatures up to 120 °C and occasionally with a peak temperature up to 140 °C.
