SCOPE
1.1 This practice covers procedures for determining the relative resistance of refractory materials against slag erosion. A reference refractory specimen should be included in each test and run for comparison. The test and equipment are patterned after a method developed by Valley Dolomite Corporation.  
1.2 This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems associated with its use.
