ASTM B434-22
(Specification)Standard Specification for Nickel-Molybdenum-Chromium-Iron Alloys Plate, Sheet, and Strip
Standard Specification for Nickel-Molybdenum-Chromium-Iron Alloys Plate, Sheet, and Strip
ABSTRACT
This specification covers nickel-molybdenumchromium-iron alloys (UNS N10003 and UNSN10242) plate, sheet, and strip for use in general corrosive service. Alloys in the form of sheet, strips, and plates may be hot or cold rolled, annealed, and descaled. Physical properties like grain size, weight, thickness, width, length, straightness, squareness, flatness, and edges of the specimens shall be determined. Plate and sheet mechanical properties like tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation shall be measured.
SCOPE
1.1 This specification2 covers nickel-molybdenum-chromium-iron alloys in the form of plate, sheet, and strip. The alloys are typically for general corrosive service, but are not limited to this usage.
1.2 Alloys that can currently be certified to this specification are UNS N10003 and UNS N10242.3
1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.
1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to become familiar with all hazards including those identified in the appropriate Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for this product/material as provided by the manufacturer, to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices, and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
