Coating powders - Part 6: Determination of gel time of thermosetting coating powders at a given temperature (ISO 8130-6:2021)

This document specifies a method for determining the time for a thermosetting coating powder to gel at a specified temperature. A method is described for checking batch to batch variation and for the quality control of a given coating powder.
The method is not applicable to coating powders with ultra-short gel times (less than 15 s).

Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Zeitspanne fest, die notwendig ist, damit ein wärmehärtbarer Pulverlack bei einer festgelegten Temperatur geliert. Es wird ein Verfahren zum Überprüfen der Schwankung von Charge zu Charge und für die Qualitätskontrolle eines gegebenen Pulverlackes beschrieben.
Die nach diesem Verfahren bestimmte Gelzeit steht jedoch nicht in direktem Bezug zu der Zeitspanne, die ein Pulverlack bei praktischen Anwendungen zum Härten benötigt.
Das Verfahren ist nicht auf Pulverlacke mit sehr kurzen Gelzeiten (unter 15 s) anwendbar.

Le présent document spécifie une méthode de détermination du temps de gélification, à une température donnée, des poudres pour revêtement thermodurcissables. Une méthode est décrite pour vérifier les variations d'un lot à l'autre et pour le contrôle de la qualité d'une poudre pour revêtement donnée.
La méthode n'est pas applicable aux poudres pour revêtement présentant des temps de gélification ultracourts (moins de 15 s).

and varnishes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 “Paints and varnishes” the
secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by January 2022.
