Thermal insulation products for buildings - Factory made composite products - Specification

This European standard specifies the requirements for factory made composite products to be used for thermal insulation of buildings, such as composite insulation products with at least two different thermal insulation layers and with or without facings or coatings, and composite products with thermal insulation layer/s bonded to additional external layer/s of non insulation products.  
Products defined by standards EN 13162 to 13171 and prEN 16069 shall be used for the thermal insulation layers. If a product other than those defined in above standards is used as one of the thermal insulation layers, then its properties declared for the composite shall be assessed according to test methods and principles in above mentioned standards.
This standard does not cover the performance of prefabricated systems incorporating these composite products.
This standard specifies product characteristics and includes procedures for testing, evaluation of conformity, marking and labelling.
This standard does not specify the required level of a given property to be achieved by a product to demonstrate fitness for purpose in a particular application. The levels required for a given application are to be found in regulations or non conflicting standards.
Self supporting building products and products for structural use are not covered by this standard.
This standard does not cover in situ composite insulation products, composite products for civil engineering applications and composite products intended to be used for thermal insulation of building equipment and industrial installations.

Wärmedämmstoffe für Gebäude - Werkmäßig hergestellte Mehrschicht-Produkte - Spezifikation

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen an werkmäßig hergestellte Mehrschicht-Produkte fest, die für die Wärmedämmung von Gebäuden benutzt werden, z. B. Mehrschicht-Produkte mit mindestens zwei verschiedene Wärmedämmstofflagen mit oder ohne Kaschierung oder Beschichtung und Mehrschicht-Produkte mit Wärmedämmlagen, die mit (einer) zusätzlichen außenliegenden Lage(n) von nicht wärmedämmenden Produkten verbunden werden.
Für die Wärmedämmlagen sind Produkte nach EN 13162 bis EN 13171 oder prEN 16069 zu verwenden. Werden andere Produkte als die in den vorgenannten Normen definierten Produkte für eine der Wärmedämmlagen verwendet, sind die für das Mehrschicht-Produkt angegebenen Eigenschaften nach den Prüfverfahren und Grundsätzen der vorgenannten Normen zu beurteilen.
Die Leistung von vorgefertigten Systemen, die diese Mehrschicht-Produkte enthalten, ist nicht Gegenstand dieser Norm.
Die vorliegende Norm beschreibt die Produkteigenschaften und enthält Prüfverfahren und Festlegungen für die Konformitätsbewertung, die Kennzeichnung und die Etikettierung.
Diese Norm legt keine Leistungsstufen für Eigenschaften fest, die ein Produkt erreichen muss, um für eine bestimmte Endanwendung tauglich zu sein. Die für bestimmte Anwendungen benötigten Stufen können Regelwerken oder nicht entgegenstehenden Normen entnommen werden.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für selbsttragende Bauprodukte oder Produkte für lasttragende Anwendungen.
Die vorliegende Norm gilt weder für an der Verwendungsstelle hergestellte Mehrschicht-Dämmstoffe noch für Mehrschicht-Produkte, die im Tiefbau oder zur Wärmedämmung von haustechnischen und betriebstechnischen Anlagen bestimmt sind.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences relatives aux produits composites manufacturés utilisés pour l'isolation thermique des bâtiments, tels que les produits composites d'isolation à au moins deux couches distinctes d'isolation thermique, avec ou sans parements ou enduits de finition, et les produits composites avec une ou plusieurs couches d'isolation thermique liées à une ou plusieurs couches externes supplémentaires de produits non isolants.  
Des produits conformes aux normes EN 13162 à 13171 et prEN 16069 doivent être utilisés pour les couches d'isolation thermique. Si un produit autre que ceux définis dans les normes ci-dessus est utilisé en tant que couche d'isolation thermique, ses propriétés déclarées pour le composite doivent être évaluées selon les méthodes et les principes d'essai indiqués dans ces normes.
La présente norme ne couvre pas les performances des systèmes préfabriqués qui incorporent ces produits composites.
La présente norme spécifie les caractéristiques des produits et contient des modes opératoires d'essai, d'évaluation de la conformité, de marquage et d'étiquetage.
La présente norme ne spécifie pas, pour une propriété donnée, le niveau exigé que doit atteindre un produit pour démontrer son aptitude à l'emploi dans une application particulière. Les niveaux requis pour une application donnée figurent dans les réglementations ou normes non conflictuelles.
Les produits de construction autoportants et les produits à usage structurel ne sont pas couverts par la présente norme.

This document (prEN 16491:2012) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 88 “Thermal
insulating materials and products”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This document is currently submitted to the CEN Enquiry.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the
European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive.

This standard contains three Annexes:

The reduction in energy used and emissions produced during the installed life of insulation products exceeds
by far the energy used and emissions made during the production and disposal processes.

1 Scope
This European standard specifies the requirements for factory made composite products to be used for
