This European Standard is applicable to entertainment audio ear-muffs. It specifies requirements on construction, design, performance, marking and user information relating to the inclusion of the entertainment audio facility.

Dieses Dokument ist anzuwenden für Kapselgehörschützer mit Audiounterhaltungseingang. Es legt für die Integration der Tonwiedergabeeinrichtung für Unterhaltungszwecke Anforderungen hinsichtlich Konstruktion, Gestaltung, Leistung, Kennzeichnung und Benutzerinformationen fest.
Kapselgehörschützer mit Audiounterhaltungseingang sind mit einem drahtgebundenen oder drahtlosen System ausgestattet, über das Audioinhalte zu Unterhaltungszwecken wiedergegeben werden können. Sie können einen Rundfunkempfänger oder Musik-Player enthalten oder über einen Audioeingang für externe Geräte verfügen.
Außerdem bieten sie die Möglichkeit, Warnsignale oder Warnmeldungen zu übermitteln. Durch die Produktnormen wird eine Begrenzung für den erzeugten Schalldruckpegel am Ohr festgelegt.
Das Audiosignal für Unterhaltungszwecke kann mittels Funk (Rundfunk oder lokaler Werkssender) oder drahtgebunden oder durch andere Kommunikationssysteme, z. B. Bluetooth, übertragen werden.

This document (EN 352-8:2020) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 159 “Hearing
protectors”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2021, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by November 2023.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 352-8:2008.
This document has been prepared under a standardization request given to CEN by the European
Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of
