Building lime - Part 3: Conformity evaluation
This European Standard specifies the scheme for the evaluation of conformity of building lime to their corresponding
product standard EN 459-1:2001 including declaration of conformity by the manufacturer.
The European Standard provides technical rules for factory production control by the manufacturer, including
autocontrol testing of samples. It also provides rules for actions to be followed in the event of non-conformity, the
procedure for the declaration and requirements for dispatching centres.

Diese Europäische Norm legt das Verfahren für die Bewertung der Konformität von Baukalk mit der entsprechen-
den Produktnorm EN 459-1:2001 einschließlich der Konformitätserklärung durch den Hersteller fest.
Diese Europäische Norm enthält technische Regeln für die werkseigene Produktionskontrollle durch den Hersteller
einschließlich der internen Überwachungsprüfung von Proben. Sie enthält darüber hinaus Regeln für Maßnahmen,
die bei Nichtkonformität zu ergreifen sind, sowie das Verfahren für die Konformitätserklärung und Anforderungen
an Auslieferungsstellen.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie le système d'évaluation de la conformité de la chaux de construction à la norme produit lui correspondant, l'EN 459-1:2001, ainsi que la déclaration de conformité par le fabricant.
La présente norme européenne fournit les règles techniques régissant le contrôle de production en usine effectué par le fabricant, ainsi que les essais d'auto-contrôle sur échantillons. Elle fournit également les règles pour les actions à entreprendre en cas de non conformité, la procédure de déclaration et les exigences applicables aux centres de distribution.

ScopeThis European Standard specifies the scheme for the evaluation of conformity of building lime to their correspondingproduct standard EN 459-1:2001 including declaration of conformity by the manufacturer.The European Standard provides technical rules for factory production control by the manufacturer, includingautocontrol testing of samples. Management system4.1.3.1
Quality policyThe works' quality documentation shall include a statement by management defining its policy, objectives andcommitments to the attainment of product quality.4.1.3.2
Management representativeThe manufacturer shall appoint a management representative who, irrespective of other responsibilities, shall havedefined authority and responsibility for ensuring that the requirements of this scheme for the evaluation of conformityare implemented and maintained.4.1.3.3
Management reviewThe manufacturer shall review the factory production control at appropriate intervals as specified in the works' qualitydocumentation at least once every two years in order to ensure its continuing suitability and effectiveness to meetthe requirements of this scheme for the evaluation of conformity.4.1.3.4
TrainingThe Works' quality documentation shall describe the measures taken to ensure that all the personnel involved inoperations that can affect factory production control and product quality have appropriate experience or training.Appropriate records shall be retained.5SIST EN 459-3:2002
Document controlThe management representative shall be responsible for the control of all documents and data related to factoryproduction control and to this scheme for the evaluation of conformity.This control shall ensure that the current issues of appropriate documents are available at essential locations.A master list shall be established to identify the current revision of documents in order to prevent the use of obsoletedocuments.4.1.4.2
Quality recordsThe manufacturer shall retain quality records for at least the period required to comply with relevant legislation.4.2Internal quality control4.2.1Process controlThe works' quality documentation shalla)describe the parameters for production process, testing, verification, inspection, corrective action, dispatch andthe associated records;b)describe the methods used by the manufacturer to ensure that the building lime produced conforms to EN 459-1:2001;c)contain procedures to ensure that off-specification production is adequately managed.4.2.2
Measuring and testing4.2.2.1
Measuring and test equipmentThe equipment for measurement and testing shall be regularly checked and calibrated in accordance with theprocedures and frequencies laid down in the works' quality documentation.4.2.2.2
Inspection and test statusProcedures for the inspection and test status of the final product and if necessary for stages of manufacture shallbe detailed in the works' quality documentation.4.2.3
Handling, storage, packaging and deliveryThe works' quality documentation shall describe the precautions taken for the protection of the quality of the buildinglime while under the responsibility of the manufacturer. Delivery documentation shall allow traceability to theproducing works.4.3
Autocontrol testing of samples4.3.1
Sampling and testingThe manufacturer shall operate a system of autocontrol testing. This shall be used to demonstrate conformity withconformity criteria in clause 5 of EN 459-1:2001. The properties, test methods and the minimum testing frequenciesfor the autocontrol testing are specified in Table 6 of EN 459-1:2001.For specific conditions of storage and dispatch adequate frequency of testing different to those specified in Table 6of EN 459-1:2001 and the point of sampling shall be specified in the works' quality documentation.All test data shall be documented.6SIST EN 459-3:2002
Evaluation of results of autocontrol testing of samples4.3.2.1 GeneralAs a rule, the manufacturer shall carry out a non-statistical evaluation, as specified in 4.3.2.2. Where the frequencyof testing applied by the manufacturer is so that at least 20 autocontrol test results are obtained within a controlperiod, the manufacturer may carry out a statistical evaluation, as specified in 4.3.2.3.4.3.2.2 Non-statistical evaluationThe manufacturer shall check that all individual autocontrol test results meet the requirements given in Table 2, 3,4 and 5 of EN 459-1:2001.4.3.2.3 Statistical evaluation4.3.2.3.1
Against statistical conformity criteriaThe manufacturer shall check that the test results of the autocontrol testing conform to B.2 of EN 459-1:2001.The frequency of statistical evaluation, by the manufacturer, of the data of the control period shall be at leastonce a year.4.3.2.3.2
