This document specifies some gas compatibility test methods to evaluate plastic materials suitable for use in the manufacture of composite gas cylinder liners. It is also applicable to the evaluation of the suitability of plastic matrix materials used for Type 5 cylinders.
Some fluids like water, used for cylinders testing, can react positively or negatively when in contact with plastic liners. This compatibility issue is not covered by this document.

Dieses Dokument legt einige Prüfverfahren für die Verträglichkeit mit Gasen fest, um für die Herstellung von Linern für Composite Gasflaschen geeignete Kunststoffe zu bewerten. Darüber hinaus ist es anwendbar zur Bewertung der Eignung von Matrix Werkstoffen aus Kunststoff, die für Flaschen Typ 5 verwendet werden.
Einige Flüssigkeiten, wie etwa Wasser, die zur Prüfung von Flaschen verwendet werden, können positiv oder negativ reagieren, wenn sie Kontakt mit Kunststoff Linern haben. Dieses Verträglichkeitsproblem wird von diesem Dokument nicht erfasst.

Le présent document spécifie des méthodes d’essai de la compatibilité des gaz pour évaluer les matières plastiques convenant à la fabrication des liners des bouteilles à gaz composites. Il s’applique également à l’évaluation de l’adéquation des matières plastiques de la matrice utilisée pour les bouteilles de Type 5.
Certains liquides comme l’eau, utilisés pour soumettre à essai des bouteilles, peuvent réagir positivement ou négativement lorsqu’ils sont en contact avec des liners en plastique. Ce problème de compatibilité n’est pas couvert par le présent document.

Ta dokument določa preskusne metode in vrednotenje rezultatov teh preskusov za kvalificiranje plastičnih materialov, primernih za uporabo pri izdelavi notranjih prevlek plinskih jeklenk iz kompozitnih materialov. Uporablja se lahko tudi za vrednotenje primernosti plastičnih matričnih materialov, ki se uporabljajo za jeklenke tipa 5.

This document (EN ISO 11114-5:2022) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 58 "Gas
cylinders" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 23 “Transportable gas cylinders” the
secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by July 2022, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by July 2022.
