Introduction
This document is intended to supplement the information on “one post equipment” contained in
EN 1176-1:2017+A1:2023 and to share good practice for the implementation of the requirements in that
standard.
EN 1176-1:2017+A1:2023, 4.2.14 in particular, creates a potential issue around practical application of
the standard when installing one post equipment, particularly on synthetic surfacing. It is possible to
interpret the current published clause, in a way that falls beyond the intention and spirit of the standard.
Working to the good practice detailed in this document, until such time as the standard is updated, will
help to clarify this situation.
It is good practice for the inspection of one post equipment to start with a risk assessment by a competent
inspector with a suitable level of experience.
1 Scope
