Synthetic surfaces for outdoor sports areas - Specification

This document specifies requirements for synthetic surfaces (placed in situ and prefabricated) for outdoor sports facilities. It covers synthetic surfaces for the following applications:
¾   athletics, track and field;
¾   tennis;
¾   multi-sports.
It also covers surface systems which include both their supporting and upper layers whether prefabricated, produced in situ or a combination of the two.
NOTE 1   Examples of types of surface and their fields of application are given in Annex A, general recommendations and information regarding requirements in Clauses 4 and 5 are given in Annex B and recommendations for the finished surface are given in Annex C.
NOTE 2   "Multi-sports" will be defined by appropriate national provisions.

Kunststofflächen auf Sportanlagen im Freien - Anforderungen

Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen für (vor Ort verlegte oder vorgefertigte) Kunststoffflächen auf Sportanlagen im Freien fest. Sie gilt für Kunststoffflächen für die folgenden Anwendungsbereiche:
-   Leichtathletik;
-   Tennis;
-   Mehrzweck-Sportanlagen.
Diese Norm gilt sowohl für Belagssysteme mit Trag- und Oberschichten, die entweder vor Ort hergestellt oder vorgefertigt sind, als auch für Kombinationen aus beiden Fertigungsarten.
ANMERKUNG 1   Beispiele für Belagstypen und deren Anwendungsbereiche sind in Anhang A dargestellt. Allgemeine Empfehlungen und Angaben zu den Anforderungen in den Abschnitten 4 und 5 sind in Anhang B und Anforderungen an den Oberbelag in Anhang C aufgeführt.
ANMERKUNG 2   Der Begriff „Mehrzweck-Sportanlagen" wird in den einschlägigen nationalen Bestimmungen festgelegt.
ANMERKUNG 3   Anforderungen an die Dicke des Belags sind in 5.1 angegeben. Das heißt, dass diese Europäische Norm nicht für bestimmte Beschichtungen für Sportböden gilt.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences applicables aux sols synthétiques (fabriqués sur site ou en usine)
pour installations de sport en plein air. Elle traite des surfaces synthétiques pour applications suivantes :
- athlétisme ;
- tennis ;
- activités multisports.
Elle traite également des systèmes composés à la fois de couches support et de surface, fabriqués en usine,
sur site ou par une combinaison des deux systèmes.
NOTE 1 L’Annexe A donne des exemples de types de surface et de leur domaine d’application, l’Annexe B donne des
recommandations et des informations générales sur les exigences figurant dans les Articles 4 et 5 et l’Annexe C donne
des recommandations relatives à la couche de finition.
NOTE 2 Le terme « multisports » sera défini dans les dispositions nationales appropriées.
NOTE 3 Les exigences applicables à l’épaisseur de la surface sont spécifiées en 5.1, ce qui signifie que la présente
Norme européenne ne s’applique pas à certains revêtements utilisés pour les sols sportifs.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

NOTE These facilities normally enable sports such as handball, basketball, volleyball, small sided football to be played, and they can also be used for physical education and many other sporting activities. 4 Requirements for safety in use 4.1 General For athletics surfaces the requirements in 4.3 to 4.5 shall apply within the temperature range 10 °C to 40 °C. For type approval purposes, tests shall be carried out with the sample at (2010+) °C, (23 ± 2) °C and (02-40) °C.
For type approval purposes, tests on surfaces for multi-sports and tennis shall be carried out with the sample at (23 ± 2) °C.
Site tests on all synthetic surfaces shall be carried out with the surface temperature in the range 10 °C to 40 °C. 4.2 Friction When determined in accordance with EN 13036-4, dry and wet at a temperature of (23 ± 2) °C, using the CEN rubber, the mean of the Pendulum Test Value shall be between 55 and 110 and no individual test result shall differ from the mean by more than four units. The verification test described in EN 13036-4 shall be carried out under dry conditions.
