Specifies requirements, test methods, manuals for both the owner and the installer, and the designation for hydraulic steering systems and components from the wheel to the interface point for outboard motor, inboard motor and inboard-outdrive steering arrangements, used on small craft of up to 24 m length of hull.

La présente Norme internationale spécifie les caractéristiques exigées et prescrit les méthodes d'essai, les manuels du propriétaire et de l'installateur, ainsi que la désignation des appareils à gouverner hydrauliques et de leurs éléments constitutifs depuis la roue jusqu'au point d'interface avec le moteur hors-bord, intérieur ou intérieur à transmission extérieure sur les navires de plaisance dont la coque ne dépasse pas 24 m de longueur. Elle ne traite pas des accessoires raccordant la tige d'extrémité du câble à la barre ou à son équivalent.

The text of ISO 10592:1994 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 188 “Small craft” of the
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 10592:2017.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2018, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by February 2018.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 10592:1995.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the
European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive(s).
