This standard specifies the characteristics of self-aligning double row ball bearings with flanged outer ring in corrosion resisting steel, reduced internal clearance, designed to withstand only slow rotations and oscillations under load.
They are intended for use between fixed and moving parts of the aircraft structure and their control mechanisms.
They are intended to be used in the temperature range: - 54 °C to 150 °C.
However, being lubricated with the following greases:
very high pressure grease, ester type (code A), operational range - 73 °C to 121 °C or
very high pressure grease, synthetic hydrocarbons, general purpose (code B), operational range - 54 °C to 177 °C (see EN 3280),
their field of application when lubricated with code A grease is limited to 121 °C.

Diese Norm legt die Eigenschaften von zweireihigen Pendelkugellagern mit Flanschaußenring aus korrosions¬beständigem Stahl mit reduzierter radialer Lagerluft fest, die so ausgelegt sind, dass sie unter Belastung nur lang¬samen Dreh- und Schwenkbewegungen standhalten.
Sie sind zur Verwendung zwischen starren und beweglichen Flugwerkteilen und deren Betätigungs¬einrichtungen bestimmt.
Sie sind für den Einsatz im Temperaturbereich von -54° C bis 150° C bestimmt.
Da sie jedoch mit folgenden Fetten geschmiert werden:
Hochdruckfett auf Esterbasis (Kennbuchstabe A), Betriebstemperaturbereich -73° C bis 121° C oder
Hochdruckfett auf der Basis von synthetischen Kohlenwasserstoffen zur allgemeinen Verwendung (Kenn¬buch¬stabe B), Betriebstemperaturbereich -54° C bis 177° C (siehe EN 3280),
ist ihr Anwendungsbereich bei Schmierung mit Fett mit dem Kennbuchstaben A auf 121° C eingeschränkt.
