EN ISO 4254-1:2009

Agricultural machinery - Safety - Part 1: General requirements (ISO 4254-1:2008)

ISO 4254-1:2008 specifies the general safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of self-propelled ride-on machines and mounted, semi-mounted or trailed machines used in agriculture. In addition, it specifies the type of information on safe working practices (including residual risks) to be provided by the manufacturer.
ISO 4254-1:2008 deals with significant hazards (as listed in Annex A), hazardous situations and events relevant to this agricultural machinery used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer (see Clause 4).
ISO 4254-1:2008 is not applicable to tractors, aircraft, air-cushion vehicles, or lawn and garden equipment.
ISO 4254-1:2008 is not applicable to environmental hazards, road safety, electromagnetic compatibility, or to the power take-off (PTO) drive shaft; neither is it applicable to moving parts for power transmission except for strength requirements for guards and barriers (see 4.7), nor to vibration except in respect of declarations. It is not applicable to hazards related to maintenance or repairs to be carried out by professional service personnel.
ISO 4254-1:2008 is not applicable to machines which are manufactured before the date of its publication.
All of the hazards dealt with by ISO 4254-1:2008 will not necessarily be present on a particular machine. For any machine covered by ISO 4254-1:2008, the provisions of the part of ISO 4254 directly applicable to that type of machine, if available, take precedence over the provisions of ISO 4254-1:2008.

L'ISO 4254-1:2008 spécifie les exigences générales de sécurité et leurs vérifications pour la conception et la construction des machines automotrices et portées, semi-portées ou traînées utilisées en agriculture. En outre, elle spécifie le type d'informations que le fabricant doit donner sur les pratiques d'utilisation sûre (y compris les risques résiduels).
L'ISO 4254-1:2008 traite tous les phénomènes dangereux (tels que listés dans l'Annexe A), les situations et les événements dangereux significatifs applicables aux matériels agricoles lorsqu'ils sont utilisés normalement et dans les conditions prévues par le fabricant (voir l'Article 4).
L'ISO 4254-1:2008 ne s'applique pas aux tracteurs, aux aéronefs agricoles, aux véhicules sur coussin d'air, ni aux matériels de jardinage ou horticole.
L'ISO 4254-1:2008 ne couvre pas les phénomènes dangereux liés à l'environnement, la sécurité routière, la compatibilité électromagnétique ni les arbres de transmission à cardans de prise de force (p.d.f.). Elle n'est pas non plus applicable aux éléments mobiles de transmission de puissance, exception faite des exigences de résistance des protecteurs et des barres d'éloignement (voir 4.7), et ne traite pas des vibrations, sauf à des fins de déclaration. Elle ne traite pas les phénomènes dangereux relatifs à la maintenance ou aux réparations devant être réalisées par des professionnels de l'entretien.
L'ISO 4254-1:2008 ne s'applique pas aux machines fabriquées avant sa date de publication.
Tous les phénomènes dangereux couverts par l'ISO 4254-1:2008 ne seront pas nécessairement présents sur une machine spécifique. Pour toute machine couverte par l'ISO 4254-1:2008, les dispositions de la partie de l'ISO 4254 couvrant ce type précis de machine, dès lors qu'elle existe, prennent le pas sur celles de l'ISO 4254-1:2008.

Kmetijski stroji - Varnost - 1. del: Splošne zahteve (ISO 4254-1:2008)

Ta del ISO 4254 opredeljuje splošne varnostne zahteve in njihovo preverjanje za načrtovanje in konstrukcijo samognanih strojev, na katerih se upravljavec vozi, ter nošenih, polnošenih ali vlečenih strojev, ki se uporabljajo v kmetijstvu. Poleg tega opredeljuje vrste podatkov glede varnih delovnih postopkov (vključno s preostalimi tveganji), ki jih mora zagotoviti proizvajalec. Ta del ISO 4254 obravnava velike nevarnosti (kot so navedene v Dodatku A), nevarne situacije in primere, ki so pomembni za te kmetijske stroje pri uporabi v skladu z namembnostjo ter pod pogoji, ki jih je predvidel proizvajalec (glej Klavzulo 4).
Ta del ISO 4254 se ne uporablja za
- traktorje,
- zračna plovila,
- vozila na zračni blazini ali
- opremo za nego trate in vrta.
Ta del ISO 4254 se ne uporablja za okoljske nevarnosti, varnost v cestnem prometu, elektromagnetno kompatibilnost ali za priključno gred (PTO) pogonske gredi; prav tako se ne uporablja za premične dele pogonskih prenosov, razen za zahteve glede trdnosti za ščitnike in pregrade (glej točko 4.7), niti za vibracije razen v zvezi z deklaracijami. Ne uporablja se za nevarnosti, povezane z vzdrževanjem ali popravili, ki jih mora izvajati strokovno usposobljeno servisno osebje. OPOMBA: ISO 14982 (glej Referenco [6]) opredeljuje metode preskušanja in merila sprejemljivosti za ovrednotenje elektromagnetne kompatibilnosti vseh vrst mobilnih kmetijskih strojev. Ta del ISO 4254 se ne uporablja za stroje, ki so proizvedeni pred datumom, ko je bil objavljen. Na določenem stroju ne bodo nujno prisotne vse nevarnosti, ki jih obravnava ta del ISO 4254. Foreword
This document (EN ISO 4254-1:2009) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 23 "Tractors and
machinery for agriculture and forestry”, Subcommittee 3 "Safety and comfort", the secretariat of which is held
by DIN in collaboration with CEN/TC 144 “Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry” in accordance
with the Agreement on technical cooperation between ISO and CEN (Vienna Agreement).
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2010, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by March 2010.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 4254-1:2005.
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (EN ISO 4254-1:2005), which has been technically
revised. It also incorporates the Final Draft Amendment ISO 4254-1:2005/FDAM 1:2007.
