Dentistry - Vocabulary (ISO 1942:2009, Corrected version 2010-03-01)

ISO 1942:2008 provides definitions for a number of concepts specific to dentistry in the interest of facilitating development and comprehension of standards, and to improve communication with the Fédération Dentaire Internationale, the World Health Organization and other interested organizations.
Annex A to ISO 1942:2008 provides additional information that can be helpful to users of the document.

Diese Internationale Norm enthält Begriffe für zahlreiche Konzepte, die spezifisch für die Zahnheilkunde sind,
mit dem Ziel, die Entwicklung und das Verständnis von Normen zu erleichtern und die Kommunikation mit der
Federation Dentaire Internationale, der Weltgesundheitsorganisation und weiteren interessierten Organisationen
zu verbessern.

The text of ISO 1942:2009, Corrected version 2010-03-01 has been prepared by Technical Committee
ISO/TC 106 “Dentistry” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as
EN ISO 1942:2010 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 55 “Dentistry” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by May 2011.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 21942-2:1992, EN 21942-3:1993, EN 21942-4:1993, EN ISO 1942:2009.
