This European Standard specifies the characteristics and performance requirements of aggregate concrete masonry units made from dense and lightweight aggregates or a combination of both for which the main intended uses are common, facing or exposed masonry in load bearing or non-load bearing building and civil engineering applications. The units are suitable for all forms of walling, including single leaf, external leaf to chimneys, cavity wall, partitions, retaining, and basement. They can provide fire protection, thermal insulation, sound insulation and sound absorption.
This European Standard includes aggregate concrete masonry units of an overall non-rectangular parallelepiped shape, especially shaped and accessory units.
It defines the performance related to e.g. strength, density, dimensional accuracy, and provides for the evaluation of conformity of the product to this European Standard. The marking requirements for products covered by this European Standard are also included.
This European Standard does not specify standard sizes for aggregate concrete masonry units, nor standard work dimensions and angles of specially shaped aggregate concrete masonry units. It does not cover storey height panels, chimney flue linings nor units intended for use as a damp proof course. It does not cover units with an incorporated thermal insulation material bonded to the faces of the unit susceptible to be exposed to fire.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Eigenschaften und Leistungsanforderungen für Mauersteine aus Beton mit dichten und/oder porigen Zuschlägen fest, die vorwiegend in tragendem oder nichttragendem Mauerwerk einschließlich üblichen Mauerwerks, Verblendmauerwerk oder Sichtmauerwerk in Bauwerken des Hoch- oder Tiefbaus verwendet werden. Die darin beschriebenen Mauersteine eignen sich für alle Arten von Mauerwerk einschließlich einschaligen Mauerwerks, des Außenmauerwerks von Schornsteinen, zweischaligen Mauer¬werks, Trennwänden, Stützmauern und Untergeschossen. Sie beschreibt die Anforderungen, z. B. an Festigkeit, Rohdichte, Maßgenauigkeit und darüber hinaus ist die Konformitätsbewertung von Produkten nach dieser Europäischen Norm festgelegt. Die Kennzeichnung der von dieser Europäischen Norm erfassten Produkte ist ebenfalls festgelegt.
Diese Europäische Norm legt weder genormte Größen für Mauersteine aus Beton noch Sollmaße oder Winkel für Formsteine aus Beton fest. Sie gilt nicht für geschosshohe Tafeln, Steine für die Auskleidung von Rauch¬abzügen oder Steine zur Herstellung von feuchtesperrenden Schichten. Sie gilt nicht für Steine mit einem Wärmedämmstoff, der auf die Seiten des Steins, die Feuer ausgesetzt sein können, aufgebracht ist.

Cette Norme européenne spécifie les caractéristiques et les exigences de performances des blocs en béton
de granulats fabriqués à partir de granulats courants et légers ou une combinaison des deux, utilisés,
exposés ou non, en maçonnerie courante ou de parement, porteuse ou non, dans des bâtiments ou des
ouvrages de génie civil. Les blocs conviennent pour toutes les formes de murs, y compris les murs à simple
ou double paroi, les conduits extérieurs de fumée, les cloisons, les murs de soutènement et de
soubassement. Ils peuvent constituer une protection contre les incendies, une isolation thermique et
acoustique et constituer une absorption acoustique.
Cette Norme européenne concerne également les éléments de maçonnerie en béton de granulats n'ayant
pas une forme générale de parallélépipède rectangle, notamment sur les éléments de forme particulière et
les accessoires.
Elle définit d'une part les performances relatives par exemple à la résistance, la masse volumique et les
tolérances dimensionnelles et permet d'autre part d'évaluer la conformité du produit par rapport à cette
Norme européenne. Elle inclut également les exigences de marquage des produits qui y sont traités.
Cette Norme européenne ne spécifie ni les formats standard des blocs en béton de granulats, les
dimensions de fabrication courantes, ni les caractéristiques angulaires des blocs en béton de granulats de
forme particulière. Elle ne couvre pas les panneaux hauteur d'étage, les conduits intérieurs de fumée ni les
blocs destinés à servir d'assise anti-humidité. Elle ne couvre pas les blocs comportant un isolant thermique
rapporté sur les faces susceptibles d'être exposées au feu.

Ta evropski standard določa značilnosti in zahteve za zmogljivost betonskih zidakov, narejenih iz kompaktnih in lahkih agregatov ali kombinacije obojega, ki so v glavnem predvideni za uporabo pri splošni, fasadni in izpostavljeni zidavi pri nosilnih ali nenosilnih visokih ali nizkih gradnjah. Zidaki so primerni za vse oblike sten, vključno z enojnim slojem in zunanjim slojem pri dimnikih, votlih zidovih, predelkih, opornih zidovih in kleteh. Lahko zagotavljajo zaščito pred požarom, toplotno izolacijo, zvočno izolacijo in zvočno absorpcijo.
