Part 1-9 of EN 50289 details the test methods to determine the attenuation of converted common mode signals into differential mode signals due to balance characteristics of cables used in analogue and digital communication systems by using the transmission measurement method. The terms related to this attenuation are defined in 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3. It is to be read in conjunction with Part 1-1 of EN 50289, which contains essential provisions for its application.

La partie 1-9 de la Norme européenne EN 50289 donne en détail la méthode d'essai pour la détermination de l’affaiblissement du signal en mode commun converti en mode différentiel causé par les caractéristiques de symétrie des câbles utilisés dans les réseaux de communication analogiques et numériques à l'aide d'une méthode de mesure de transmission. Les termes relatifs à cet affaiblissement sont définis dans les paragraphes 3.1, 3.2 et 3.3. Elle doit être lue avec la partie 1-1 de la Norme européenne EN 50289 qui contient les dispositions essentielles pour l'application de la présente partie.
