IEC 61158-4-24:2014 specifies procedures for the timely transfer of data and control information from one data-link user entity to a peer user entity, and among the data-link entities forming the distributed data-link service provider and the structure of the fieldbus DLPDUs used for the transfer of data and control information by the protocol of this standard, and their representation as physical interface data units.

IEC 61158-4-24:2014 določa postopke za pravočasni prenos podatkov in informacij o nadzoru od enega uporabniškega osebka podatkovne povezave do uporabniškega osebka vrstnika in med osebki podatkovne povezave, ki tvorijo ponudnika storitev porazdeljenih podatkovnih povezav, ter strukturo DLPDU-jev za procesna vodila, ki se uporabljajo za prenos podatkov in informacij o nadzoru s protokolom tega standarda, in njihovo zastopanost kot fizični vmesnik podatkovnih enot.
