EN 60335-2-53:2011/A2:2023 (IEC 60335-2-53:2011/A2:2021) is the CENELEC amendment that updates the European safety requirements for electric sauna heating appliances and infrared cabins.   • Visual indications (pilot lamp, icon) must show when the heater is switched on; standby/delayed modes must have a visible indicator and require two independent actions to activate.
• Heating limits: temperature‑rise limits (e.g., maximum rise of 115 K for selected parts) and increased allowance for handles/knobs when held briefly (+20 K).
